Irish baby names

First post! DH is English, I am Irish and pregnant with DC1. Looking for Irish name suggestions.

Struggling to find names we both like and that DH doesn't immediately associate with just one member of my family/friend/famous person. For example, I like Ronan for a boy but he said it was 'too Boyzone'. I know loads of Ronans so don't think it's an issue and I'm going to be giving birth so think I should get to decide.

We live in inner London. Kids at school will have names from a wide range of countries and cultures, so not worried about the name being unusual in the UK.

Surname starts with F so would prefer to avoid F names. I have a very common Irish girl's name starting with A and would like a different name for any DCs.

I have a friend who used Irish surnames for first names, it worked well, as she has a regular, boring surname. She lives in the US though.

Senan is currently the trendy name du jour over here in Ireland. And Cian is always a big one, along with Cillian.

With girls names you cant go wrong with Orla unless it reminds you of a thousand girls you went to school with as its easy to spell and pronounce.

A bit more anglicised: Patrick or Brendan

I like Tadhg and Lorcan but DH has ruled both out already. We're thinking about Niamh for a girl but he has warned me people will pronounce it Neev rather than Nee-uv.

English people will definitely pronounce it as Neev.

I have a Niamh, the name will defo be pronounced as Neev.

I'm also Irish, living in London. From the north and tbh i pronounce Niamh as neev anyway!

I love Dearbhla (lots of variant spellings) but can't use myself as have close family with that name.

I hate the Nee-uv pronunciation.

Liadain, Taillte, Aifric, Roise, Muireann or Blaithin for a girl.

For boys: Fiach, Ciar, Conor, Peadar, Aodh, Eoin.

Can't do fadas on my phone but look them up and you will find the correct spelling.
