Love Eddison! And fab options for nicknames as pointed out above (I love Ed, Teddy and Ned).
Don't worry about comments on light bulbs :) it's a generation thing. We wanted Otis for our son and both sets of parents couldn't get over the lift connection! We didn't go for it but I still love it. For our kids generation more interesting names will just be the norm.
