How many little Lucys do you know?

Not pg but was just thinking how I haven't met any little Lucys at any baby groups. Is it one of those rare 'well known but not ubiquitous' names? Might add it to list for mythical DD!

One. She's not really little though - she's five. And lovely! It's a great name.

kimlo · 26/10/2015 17:09

3 or 4 and some older ones going up to about 11.

Its popular but not Ruby or Amelia popular.

Lunastarfish · 26/10/2015 17:25

I know a 6 year old, all the rest are in 30/40s

crapfatbanana · 26/10/2015 17:37

I know a seven year old and three women in their thirties.

Pandora97 · 26/10/2015 22:45

I know one baby and one four year old. Most of the Lucys I know are in their 20s.

genome · 26/10/2015 22:47

Munchkin08 · 26/10/2015 23:02

Pobspits · 26/10/2015 23:05

1 aged 4, 1 aged 5 and 2 aged 9

Paddletonio · 26/10/2015 23:06

Gorgeous name. I know a few but don't think it's massively over done. Definitely don't hear it as often as Amelia, Olivia etc. always loved this name.

CharleyDavidson · 26/10/2015 23:07

I know 3, but all about 8 or 10 years old. (I am a teacher so know a lot of children though.)

insan1tyscartching · 26/10/2015 23:14

I have one almost 13 and there is one other in her year at school.I don't know any small ones though.

MeAndTheMajor · 26/10/2015 23:24

One, age 4. She's a Lucie though.

SuckingEggs · 26/10/2015 23:26

None. Two in their 20s though.

Great name.

susurration · 27/10/2015 11:32

None, but i do know several in their 20's and 30's.

steppemum · 27/10/2015 13:14

I know 2, my dd (10) and a friend's daughter (8)

But I do know a few adult Lucys, and I always think it sounds like a girl's name not a woman's. The adult Lucys I know are all nice, competent adults, but I still feel they have a 'young' name.

But there are a couple of names I feel like that about, Robin and Wendy being two others.

So our Lucy is actually her shortened name. She has a gorgeous longer name, which I can't share because it is Dutch and very uncommon, and so would out her. At the moment she is known as Lucy in UK and longname in Holland. I am hoping she choses to use her longer name more as an adult.

AmysTiara · 27/10/2015 13:19

Three. One is 5, one is 2 and the youngest is 3 months old.

hufflebottom · 27/10/2015 15:00

Spooky. My dd has decided that this is what we've got to call dc if its a girl.

chrome100 · 27/10/2015 15:09

Interesting that you called your own DD Lucy then steppenmum, she's going to be a grown up too in five or ten years Grin

steppemum · 27/10/2015 16:03

chrome, if you read the whole post, Hmm she isn't called Lucy. That is a short name, like Becky for Rebecca.

Obviously she can chose to continue to be called Becky as an adult, or revert to Rebecca.

steppemum · 27/10/2015 16:17

and Becky is another one for my list of girl's names and it is my name!

MidnightRed · 27/10/2015 16:18

Three. All women in their thirties.

KittyandSqueal · 27/10/2015 16:26

My dd is a Lucy. I didn't know any until I had her.ni now have 2 Lucy friends, have taught one and a new friends older (11) dd is Lucy.

I've yet to meet another Lucy her age though.

TheOriginalWinkly · 27/10/2015 16:28

My DD is Lucy (15 months). Her cousins' cousin (who I've never met) is also Lucy (3 years).
