Honest opinions please...

My little girl is two weeks old and we're at a complete naming stalemate Confused

dreadful, it sounds like the name of a dairy cow.
If you like 'flower names' you could go for
Ivy
Rose
Primrose
Fleur

cant think of any more just now

Ha ha. No.

A bit of a split then.. Which is better than I was expecting, so feeling quite encouraged. It's the only name I've actually felt genuinely excited about, and it just felt right, when DH said he liked it too I was so delighted, as our tastes are normally complete opposites. Having said that, when I brought it up again he said he wasn't so keen after all -basically bottling it as he thinks it's too unconventional. Very disappointing.

I think some of the 'saner' alternatives (mimosa, briar, primrose?) are actually a bit more 'out there' than Bluebell but different strokes and all that!

Thanks a lot for all the feedback and suggestions. I guess the search goes on :-(

I love this name. Bluebell is a really beautiful name in my opinion and you can call her belle if you want which is also lovely. If you both like it go for it. I tried this one on DH with DD but he wasn't having it Sad

Love Bluebell.

reuset · 13/10/2015 11:10

Briar and Mimosa are saner alternatives Shock I think not.

DobbinsVeil · 13/10/2015 11:15

I love it. My 2nd favourite girl's name is Juliet, followed by Hazel.

snowgirl1 · 13/10/2015 11:17

It's beautiful, but I'd give it as a middle name.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 13/10/2015 11:24

It's our daughter's third name, along with two other fairly trad names. I like it!

321zerobaby · 13/10/2015 11:28

I like it, I was going to use it if I'd have had another dd.

CelestiaLuna · 18/10/2015 20:10

I wouldn't have said Primrose was really out there.

Bluebell sounds cute as a mn but not keen as a first as it lacks substance to me.

ATrueNerd · 18/10/2015 21:50

I think you have to go for it! If it's the only name you feel excited about and dh likes it too then that's all that matters. It's a lovely, happy name, yes it's bit out there and not to everyone's taste but if it makes you happy when you say it then that's all that matters. We are considering a very traditional name for ds and have had very mixed reactions so you're never going to please everyone. I know of a few Primroses, a Pansy and a Tulip.
