Honest opinions please...

My little girl is two weeks old and we're at a complete naming stalemate Confused

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 11/10/2015 00:18

No if your surname is Woods, Hills or Banks.

Otherwise why not if you like it?

AwfulBeryl · 11/10/2015 00:23

It's not my cup of tea, but I certainly wouldn't raise my eyebrows at it.

What does your dh think ? If he likes it go for it. Smile None of her friends will know who Geri Haliwell is.

I really like Willow and Rowan which might be a sort of compromise between you and DH.

AwfulBeryl · 11/10/2015 00:23

Oh and congratulations Thanks

scatterthenuns · 11/10/2015 00:24

Celeb try-hard name. Nevermind Geri, Beyonce's Blue is enough to put me off.

AwfulBeryl · 11/10/2015 00:26

Oh just seen that your DH likes it, sorry missed that first time.
Go for it , it really doesn't matter what MN think.

pieceofpurplesky · 11/10/2015 00:46

It's sweet. Not sure if it will be popular with your dd though.
Names I have heard recently and love ...
Marnie
Bridie
Jenny
Pearl
Mistie

Epilepsyhelp · 11/10/2015 00:52

I like it, love Blue as a contraction too, or Belle

5BlueHydrangea · 11/10/2015 01:03

A family I know has a Bluebell. But they also have a Tinkerbell... Prefer Bluebell of the two but..

WhatsGoingOnEh · 11/10/2015 01:04

It's an adorable baby name, but can you imagine a grown woman called Bluebell?

SecretRed · 11/10/2015 01:19

I love Bluebell. It's a really sweet different but not too out there name

TheFear · 11/10/2015 01:35

What WhatsGoingOnEh said - an adult called bluebell is ridiculous!

SionnachDana · 11/10/2015 02:22

Well, if she really hates it, she can just be a Bella. Blue is a nice sound though.

hawkmcqueen · 11/10/2015 09:00

I think it's lovely. I think in general people would receive it well. However, it's quite delicate and girly which would be perfect if your DD will be as well. If you have a tomboy it might not sit right. I imagine a white blonde 4 year old with big blue eyes...

hawkmcqueen · 11/10/2015 09:02

I meant white-blonde referring to hair colour not skin (although blonde hair and blue eyes is that stereotype anyway) Blush

whatdoIget · 11/10/2015 10:52

I do like it but she wouldn't want to get too fat as an adult or there will be cow comparisons, unfortunately. I was thinking I wouldn't mind being called bluebell, but before I lost about 4 stone, it would have been problematic

mrsschu · 11/10/2015 11:54

It sounds a little ridiculous IMO. I think it will sound very dated/faddy in years to come. A little girl can probably get away with it but it's not great for a grown woman.

charis3 · 11/10/2015 12:00

a lovely nickname
give her a proper name too though

Rivercam · 11/10/2015 12:03

Bluebell is a proper name, in the same way that Daisy, Jasmine, Hazel and Heather are. If you like it, use it.

Girlfriend36 · 11/10/2015 12:11

Marigold? Juniper?

Bluebell I'm not sure on tbh, makes me think of Geri as well which is not good!

villainousbroodmare · 11/10/2015 12:22

I find it silly-cutesie.

CruCru · 11/10/2015 15:32

I know one. While it isn't my sort of thing, I don't HATE it. Must say, I don't much like "belle" names because they sound awful in the local accent.

MamaLazarou · 11/10/2015 17:24

Bluebell is really lovely. Go for it! X

nagsandovalballs · 11/10/2015 19:48

I know a very very naughty pony called bluebell

SniffsandSneezes · 12/10/2015 00:17

Jonquil?

Kaekae · 12/10/2015 13:02

I love flower names but this is not even one I would use. (Perhaps as a middle name at a push) I do love Primrose though.
