Honest opinions please,
Not for me but ndn DD is considering it, she's 36weeks
She said she is in two minds and asked my opinion, I was a bit surprised as it seems an old name,
Any thoughts?

It's my dad's name and as much as I love him I would still say not to give a baby that name!

Hero1callylost · 11/09/2015 19:29

Very dated, and not in a just-about-to-make-a-comeback way. I wouldn't!

Bohemond · 11/09/2015 19:30

Keith Lemon!

PotteringAlong · 11/09/2015 19:32

Ah, baby Keith Smile

Gileswithachainsaw · 11/09/2015 19:33

dudemeister

just no. why on earth would you

confusedandemployed · 11/09/2015 19:35

My dad's name too. And no I wouldn't!!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/09/2015 19:35

Awful. Along with Clive.

Pandora97 · 11/09/2015 19:37

The problem is Keith is old in a middle aged sort of way along with names like Trevor and Derek. It's not old enough to be fashionable like all the little old man names that are popular like Stanley and Albert. Keith is very dated to a particular time era - could be good in a sense that there's very unlikely to be other little Keiths around but I would do a double take and not in a good way.

LooseSeal · 11/09/2015 19:39

There are some names I can never see coming back into fashion, and Keith is one of them. Others include-

Darren
Wayne
Kevin
Gary
Nigel

All quite popular when I was young though.

I know there have been baby keiths but I can't imagine a baby called keith if that makes sense? It's not old enough to be traditional really.

Smcgettigan79 · 11/09/2015 19:41

I found out that me of my friends was going to be called Keith if she was a boy - have call her Keith ever since! It's funny because it's Keith

Just no

AnonymousBird · 11/09/2015 19:41

Easy.

No.

Flutterbutterfly · 11/09/2015 19:44

Fucking awful...sorry

MaudeTheMopLady · 11/09/2015 19:45

I think in fifteen years it will be tres cool. So he will be one funky teenager! I don't mind it all. Oh and I love Clive.

GooseFriend · 11/09/2015 19:45

Going against the grain here, but yes! I like it. I also know a young Trevor and a young Nigel and they do work as names on the young.

Plus no one will be rude once baby is here they'll just get used to it.

It's not like she wants a unique spelling for it

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 11/09/2015 19:46

My first boyfriend was a Keith! I don't really mind it.

beardsrock · 11/09/2015 19:46

Please.

Do you want Social Services involved?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 11/09/2015 19:46

Kiefer is similar but more up to date?

beardsrock · 11/09/2015 19:47

Clive, however, is cool.

And Clive Owen is hot.

triathlon · 11/09/2015 19:48

I don't like it.

Heath?

Starlingsintheslipstream · 11/09/2015 19:56

I don't mind it either. It's a refreshing alternative to all the try-hard names on here - if people are desperate to avoid the most popular names they should go for Keith and the like instead of making them up.

mrsschu · 11/09/2015 20:01

I think it's ok actually. I have a cousin called Keith, he's 30. I wouldn't use it myself but it's far better than lots of names knocking around at the moment! DD has a 4 year old friend called Ian. At first I thought it was really strange for a kid to be called that but it suits him really well! I'd put Keith in the same category.

Sophronia · 11/09/2015 20:25

I think she should go for it! I'd rather hear of a little Keith than yet another Oscar or Oliver.

Floralnomad · 11/09/2015 20:32

My dad was a Keith and my DS has it as a middle name , I like it .

LilacSpunkMonkey · 11/09/2015 20:39

Keith Chegwin.
