I quite like this boys name. Any other name suggestions??? Im not a fan of typical names and would like something different

How do you pronounce it?

As in Patrick Swayzes character in Point Break?

I also think people will have difficulty knowing how to pronounce it. This will only affect you in the childhood years, but will affect him all his life unless he changes it to something nicer.

They are just about to release a re-make of Point Break. Some bloke called Edgar Ramirez playing Bodhi.

We had a cat nn Bodhi after Boudica.

My ex husband had this as his middle name. He never used it and was quite embarrassed by it.

I know a very outdoorsy/surfing family with a ds called Bhodi and dd Summer. Really works for them.

I immediately added "and Doyle" but it's probably not going to be that much of a problem.

He'll probably spend a fair amount of time saying "no it's bowdee, not body" and somepeople meeting him after reading the name may be surprised if he isn't Asian (this is not necessarily a problem, obviously, but there are often reports about how CVs with "foreign" names do worse than those with English ones)

And, of course, you may actually be Asian. Obviously :o

Um... I'm not saying being mistaken for being Asian is a bad thing at all, just another thing to consider. I not sure it's come across how I meant it!

This is currently my absolute favourite name for impending DS2.

OH isn't convinced (yet) but I love it! I also think Bo /Bowie are great nn.

It's so funny as I posted it on another group I'm part of and it was universally loved but didn't bother with mn as I knew it wasn't a 'mn' name and would get pretty much slated. The reasons against it above aren't enough to put me off yet though!

I met a child with this name. Seemed to suit him, in all of 5 minutes interaction I could judge on. He was about 8.

It's the sort of name people in Brighton give their kids. I don't hate it - however I wonder whether it means that they'll be typecast as a surfer type person. A name should work for someone who becomes an office manager as well as a Greenpeace activist.

As an alternative, DS2 has a friend called Brodie.

It makes me think of the American Olympic skier, Bode Miller. (Pronounced the same way, just spelled differently.) I like it, but I agree with PP that the name doesn't exactly scream "my parents wanted me to be a stock-broker."

Written down, I'd have assumed it was said "body" - so that might be an issue.
When you said Bodie, then I have to admit I too automatically said "& Doyle".

I don't like names that you have to explain to people - so it's a 'no' from me
