My DS Middle name, after the FIL, I think it's lovely! Although GBob is his current Nick name!

jellybeans · 27/07/2015 23:58

Bit too 'my generation' for me thus seems a bit dull.

blowinahoolie · 28/07/2015 09:48

Typical nn for Robert is Rab.

Theas18 · 28/07/2015 10:18

It's a good name.

It fulfils all my criteria- It's a real name properly spelt. Any nicknames can be used to any effect. Baby Robby/Bobby/Bertie through to Rob/Bob the teenager/hipster/biker to adult Rob/Robert and grandad Bert!

Bit dull for me.

At last! A nice normal name. Go for it.

My amazing 20-something nephew (rob). and my DS's best friend (8, Bert). What's not to like?

Oh I love Bob. I have DD and she's Robin, nn Bob. Grin

MadMum2015 · 30/07/2015 01:12

Love it, sensible name without being dull or particularly identified as either posh or the opposite.

Lol at someone suggesting that Robert is too common.

I love it. Easy to say, translates well in most languages and works well across all classes.
