And if you don't mind, whereabouts are you from?

The-uh, as in the first part of 'theology' (but a, as in bat)

MirandaGoshawk · 22/07/2015 12:49

From Sarf London

loolah83 · 22/07/2015 12:54

Tay-ah...I'm Irish but living in Lancs.

Wishful80sMontage · 23/07/2015 09:09

Thee-ah I'm from the midlands

mygreeneyedboy · 23/07/2015 17:56

I'm going to be different and say I automatically think it's "tee a" but that's because that is how they say it in Norway where my DP's cousin's child has the name!
Thee-a is probably how I would have said it without this scandi influence in me! (I'm from East Anglia)

Toptack · 23/07/2015 17:59

Taya

DoloresLandingham · 23/07/2015 18:00

Thee-ah, with a soft 'th', unless there was a French connection or the name was spelt Théa, in which case 'Tay-a'.

dontcallmelen · 23/07/2015 20:51

Another Fee-ah here sarf London.

lurkymclurkerson · 23/07/2015 20:57

Sighing · 28/07/2015 13:09

The -ah (th from theology) as in The-oh (Theo) the boys name. From Cambridgeshire.

chrome100 · 28/07/2015 14:20

I had one in my class at school as a kid who pronounced it Thee-ah

But I know one as an adult who pronounces it Tay-ah. But she is half Dutch.

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 28/07/2015 14:34

Thee-a if in England
Tay-a if in Germany

TheyGotTheMustardOut · 28/07/2015 14:39

Thee - to rhyme with Fee and a soft th sound - ah.

I am mixed descent, all UK based, and live in Wales but have lived all over.

TruthSweet · 28/07/2015 14:46

I have an Alethea (Ah-lee- thee-uh) who's nn is Thea (Thee-uh).

Only trouble is the local prn is Ah-lee-fee-Ahh.

EBearhug · 28/07/2015 19:59

The Alethea I knew was Alla-thee-uh.
