Thee-a lol

I wonder if the Midlands folk know my eldest? ( she's grown up now a good 15 is years ahead of its current wave of popularity ) Am Midlands.

We've had the odd Taya but mostly from teachers of non uk origins - easily corrected.

Grand name ;)

reallybadidea · 21/07/2015 21:30

It would be pronounced Fee-ah round here Grin

tumbletumble · 21/07/2015 21:32

In the minority but I'd say Tia

bestguess23 · 21/07/2015 21:32

Alwayswiththechords · 21/07/2015 21:33

I would pronounce it Thea. in a german way.

In phonetic symbols: ?e?

I hope this helped :)

Sleepyhoglet · 21/07/2015 21:36

Like theo but with an a

mrstweefromtweesville · 21/07/2015 21:36

Theo would be Th-E-O or T-A-y-O. so Thea would be Th-E-a or T-A-ya.
North West.

Theas18 · 21/07/2015 21:36

Reallybadidea fee-a was what some kids at nursery ( brummies if that matters ) called her but they out grew it fast.

Penfold007 · 21/07/2015 21:37

Thee-uh

GallopingFoxley · 21/07/2015 21:39

To avoid all this confusion, I spelt my 17 year old DD's name as I wanted it to be pronounced... And she is Taya

Daffodil1210 · 21/07/2015 21:45

Sorry forgot to add I'm from SW Wales, but the Thee-uh was from Bristol!

Alwayswiththechords · 21/07/2015 21:45

Galloping Taya as in Tie-ya?

Blu · 21/07/2015 21:50

Thee-uh, unless I knew the parents to be Francophones or other Euro language and then I would guess Tay-a

Iwasbornin1993 · 21/07/2015 21:55

Thee-A (with the A as in Apple)

JasperDamerel · 21/07/2015 22:01

MothershipG · 21/07/2015 22:09

DD has a friend called Thea, pronounced thee-a, but DD is a bit lazy about her Th's so when she says it it sounds like fear. Grin

AliAliAlium · 21/07/2015 22:10

Thee-a, if I knew that the parents were English speakers. Or rather, I'd assume this pronouncation in the UK unless I knew that the parents weren't native English speakers.

StupidBloodyKindle · 21/07/2015 22:18

Tay -a
Tay rhyming with hay
Germany
th always pronounced as t

I guess if back in the UK thee-a with a soft th, asjn dorothea

ashtrayheart · 21/07/2015 22:27
