Which is your favourite out of these 3?
And I'm open to any other suggestions you think I might like too Smile

Harriet for me, I like Hattie for short.

swimmerforlife · 09/05/2015 23:52

Harriet is gorgeous
Emily is okay
April, really dislike it. Much prefer Avril.

lurkymclurkerson · 10/05/2015 14:35

I love love love April. Then Harriet, then Emily- too many Emilys when I was at school (I'm 22 now)

fiveacres · 10/05/2015 15:49

I like them all. I'd probably go for April - wanted this for my daughter we but was vetoed because she was born in April! Hmm Grin

MummyPiggy87 · 10/05/2015 19:34

Emily or April.
Harriet just reminds me of a spoilt little brat name sorry.

Wishful80smontage · 11/05/2015 07:29

Love Harriet its on my list for dc2.
Its strong name and great nn options.
Emily is nice but its so popular.
April is ok not my cup of tea.

Kampeki · 11/05/2015 07:34

Emily, but it is very popular. I quite like Harriet. Don't hate April but not specially keen.

stopitcaroline · 11/05/2015 16:33

Emily, which is lovely no matter how popular it might be. Next is Harriet, which is cute but not as pretty as Emily. April, to me, seems a bit downmarket.

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/05/2015 16:34

It's funny because I've never thought of Emily as being a pretty name.

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/05/2015 16:35

It just sounds a bit dowdy.

KoalaDownUnder · 11/05/2015 16:42

April! Beautiful. It reminds me of spring.

Agree that Emily sounds dowdy. I really don't like it at all, never have.

Harriet sounds stodgy to me, like a red-faced scullery-maid. No, I don't know why.

Jenny1231990 · 11/05/2015 18:00

Harriet 100%, it's my little girls name and I love it so much.
She lives up to the meaning of her name also Smile
Her nickname can vary between Harrie, harribo and hattie x

Do you not need to be born in April to be called April? Is that not a thing?!

All good names but April is the best. It's lovely.

TooBusyByHalf · 11/05/2015 20:16

Harriet. Emily is whiny and April sounds wet.

CruCru · 11/05/2015 23:59

I love Harriet. I know loads of kids called Emily - it's a nice name but is a bit overused. April makes me think of April O'Neill in the TMNT.

fleurdelacourt · 12/05/2015 09:58

Harriet - I have a very feisty one and she's the only one in her school which is great. She doesn't get called Harry at all.

Other possibilities - Lucy, Nina, Sophia

GotTheKey · 17/05/2015 16:28

I'm a harriet and I don't get shortened to Harri/Harry :)

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 17/05/2015 20:23

Emily first, then Harriet (nickname Hattie not Harry). Don't like April at all.

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 17/05/2015 20:29

Thinking about it, we only know one Emily (age 10), and I have 4 children ranging from 2-10 years. Maybe it's regional-we are in the South East and everyone here seems to go for Isaabella (or variants), Isla and Ameilia.

justhayley · 19/05/2015 18:49

Emily

Dianeleeds · 19/05/2015 20:24

Emily Smile

Glittery7 · 19/05/2015 21:42

April. Lovely, fresh, uncommon name these days.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 20/05/2015 20:14

All quite nice but April and Harriet are in danger of becoming very overused.
April is very pretty and sweet but to me you'd have to have done significance with the month April (either born or concieved in that month)
When I was growing up you hardly heard of any Aprils but now it's becoming very popular.
Harriet is okay but Hattie is prettier. Also I think the nsmd had to have significance for you like if you have an uncle Harriet then yes a lovely tribute.
Emily is not as heard of now. Sweet sensible pretty name. I think as pp said Amelia is taking over.
Out of the three I'd say Emily.
However
It does depend though on what nsmd means most to you.
I mean you don't say your situation are you ttc if so and you concieve in July making your baby due in April then the name April fits beautifully
Some other suggestions
Grace
Sophie
Ellie
Hannah
Sienna
Emma

ashesandfire · 21/05/2015 19:20

I really like Emily, although it is extremely popular.
I really like Harriet but gone off Harriet, it is probably because I teach a really vile Harriet though so it's spoiled it a bit for me.
April is ok but.... I just think it's a bit weak/wishy washy/insipid.
