Erm, that's it really. Struggling with boys names (although don't actually know if we're team blue or team pink yet Hmm.)

I think of an unlucky person, someone who jinxes everything they are involved with.

Jonas is a better name.

Aridane · 26/04/2015 22:10

The whale

Wasn't Jonah the whingy one?

Judydreamsofhorses · 26/04/2015 22:10

A jinx - isn't it linked with bad luck?

88blueshoes · 26/04/2015 22:10

The whale. I do like the name though!

Boysclothes · 26/04/2015 22:13

My DS Smile.

Seriously, go for it. Loads of nice little boys clothes with whales on! Never had anything but compliments on his name. One poor woman with a newborn started crying because she hadn't thought of it and had gone for Noah. Although that's probably more hormone driven than anything to do with the fabulousness of the name! I love how it's strong but lilting.

LondonRocks · 26/04/2015 22:14

Whale
And Tongan Jonah

ICantDecideOnAUsername · 26/04/2015 22:17

I think sailors consider Jonah a jinx and he would probably not be welcome in the navy Grin.

I don't really like Jonas.

The whingy one, lol!!

Damn, it I hope it's a girl, their names are so much easier.

I think of it as one of several Old Testament names that has become more popular recently.

AlmaMartyr · 26/04/2015 23:13

Whale. Sorry!

Fairenuff · 26/04/2015 23:14

Wasn't Jonah the whingy one?

Yes, Jonah the Moaner.

Littlefiendsusan · 26/04/2015 23:16

Jonah Jones from Grange Hill. V gobby character iirc.

SylvaniansAtEase · 26/04/2015 23:20

Do you like Jonathan? Very underused at the mo...

Redglitter · 26/04/2015 23:21

whale and jinx

Primafacie · 26/04/2015 23:23

The loser character in American sitcom VEEP. Brilliant show and brilliant character, but not so good for the name. One of my favourite lines from the show is 'You're not even your mom's favourite Jonah, Jonah.' :o

SanityClause · 26/04/2015 23:24

Yes, Fairy.

Jonah was thrown from the boat for causing the storm. Once they had chucked him overboard, the storm stopped.

Hence "a Jonah" being a bad luck person.

But, it dos have a nice sound, and is becoming quite popular, along with other Old Testament names, like Noah, Isaac and Elijah.

letitlinger · 26/04/2015 23:31

Ain't necessarily so!

VanitasVanitatum · 26/04/2015 23:34

My friend's gorgeous son Smile

LoveVintage · 26/04/2015 23:36

Stop the Cavalry.

Think he is Jona tho.

acatcalledjohn · 26/04/2015 23:36

You will always find him in the kitchen at parties?

On a serious note: I do like it.

Shallishanti · 26/04/2015 23:37

Oh Jonah he lived in a whale
Oh Jonah he lived in a whale,

Jonah he lived in a whale

FinickityCoder · 26/04/2015 23:39

Puck you Miss

BonahBubbleHead · 26/04/2015 23:40

My sons called Yonah so Jonah sounds quite harsh to say for me, I still like it though.

lemonyone · 27/04/2015 03:42

Whales.

Blahia · 27/04/2015 04:06
