Cecilia, Cecily, Celia.

What do you reckon?

I adore the name Celia. Dh doesn't like it though

My favourite is Cecilia, just a pity that it means "the blind one".

I think Cecilia and Cecily also lovely, the latter quite a mouthful though so may depend which goes better with your surname?

I too love Cecily (and Cicely) but wasn't allowed. DH: 'what if she has a lisp?'

I have a Cecily so am biased, love Cecilia too but Cecily went better with her single Syllable surname.

Surname is 2 syllables beginning with C. A bit like Tarmac in sound! Goes quite well I think although generally I don't like alliterative names...

I think my preferences goes Cecilia, Cecily, Celia but wonder if Cecilia is too much.

I like Celia. The others are too frilly and fussy for my taste.

And it's true, they are very difficult to say for anyone with a lisp, and there are bound to be kids in her circle who will have trouble saying her name. I'd keep it simple with Celia.

Cecilia is lovely. Cecily is a bit mannish and Celia a bit librarian-chic.

Don't like Cecily - sounds too lispy and a bit 'wet' (like a limp girly character from a children's book who hates getting her clothes dirty - might just be me though! )

Used to love Cecilia but now find it too fussy and frilly - too many s sounds. Agree that Celia's a bit 'librarian-chic' but see that as a good thing! It's less girly and more streamlined than the others, plus it has a lovely meaning and a Shakespearean namesake. Feels more solid and substantial than the others somehow.

Other DDs are Nina and Greta so don't think frilly fits very well. Celia reminds me of a literary character, Cecily is in the Mantlemass series, Cecilia is that song...

With your surname I'd definitely pick Celia - with the others it's just too many c's!

I love Celia but we have a few people with Coeliac disease in the family so it wasn't allowed as sounds to similar.

I vote for Cecily.
