This is what Dsis wants to name her DD
Its a mishmash of Lee and Anton (important people to her who died).
I understand her reasoning, think it's sweet, but can't help that I think it's horrendous Confused
What do you think?

Think Your definition of mocking is clearly different to mine then.
I haven't derided her in anyway, just asked for opinions on here regarding the name, which I think is horrendous.

I find it quite odd, actually, that you think it's OK to start a thread to take the piss out of a name you've heard being called in the park, but not OK to ask others opinions on your sister giving her DD a made up name.

I presume then that whatever decisions people make, you expect family to pretend to agree so as not to upset? Not just give an honest opinion?

I find that attitude really patronising.
I think it's far more respectful to treat someone as an adult, to be able to give an honest opinion to someone who knows you don't mean it maliciously, than to treat them as a delicate flower, who you mustn't upset just because you share some DNA with them?
As I said, bloody patronising...

Don't like sorry. I couldn't even say. Okay it's weird and out there but it's pretty.
How about Toni-Lee.

I really like Leonie and it still has bits of their names in.

The sound Lee An tin is fine . the spelling is... not.

Even something like Leeantyn might be better.
