Coolest boys names you've heard but won't dare use yourself?

So I'm back again.. Going through all of the options to find the perfect baby boy name! I'm due in April and time has been flying by so far!
If it was left to me and me only, he would be called Freddie. But I can't seem to get my partner to agree!

So just going through another option of not-often-heard-of boys names?
The ones on that list that I can think of are

Kit
River
Harley
Jax

What are the "coolest" or different boys names you've heard but perhaps a bit too dating to use yourself?

I love the name Freddie and would happily shout it from the back door. If I didn't already have a Franklin I would seriously consider it for any future boys.

Bowlersarm · 03/02/2015 21:39

Can't shout 'Freddie' from the back door?? Mind boggling.

Tons of Freddie's around our way, really not unusual at all.

NorbertDentressangle · 03/02/2015 21:47

Unusual boys names I've heard or come across recently include:

Willoughby
Arlo
Digby
Dexter
Eden
Harlan

I've not heard of this "back door test" before but it has made me laugh!
I'm now imagining myself at a back door shouting numerous boys names!
I still like Freddie- and I am the pickiest of people with names. Every name reminds me of something.. Whether it's food.. a cartoon character.. a person I'm not too fond of.. Honestly I'm really bad.
A relative suggested a family name.. Bramwell. Straight away it reminded me of Bramley apples.
Sidney was also mentioned (another family name), but my dad owns an old car and SID is on the number plate, so he nicknamed his car SID.
I can't win!

I love love love fox! Dp wouldn't hear of it though. We ended up with Rocco which is still pretty cool I think :)

m0therofdragons · 03/02/2015 23:40

I love kit for a boy - but have kitty already.
Love Jesse and Teddy for a boy too

peggyundercrackers · 03/02/2015 23:49

Some of these names are absolutely awful and are frankly ridiculous.

mammmamia · 03/02/2015 23:58

Mine are:

Atticus
Ace
Art

Florrieboo · 04/02/2015 01:05

One of my sons names has been mentioned a few times, and my other son's name which is far less popular has not been mentioned at all. He is Saul and everyone comments on his name and it really suits him.
Other names we were considering are:
Carter
Jethro
Huon
Crew
Amos
Walker
Zeke
Zee

rockybalboa · 04/02/2015 01:29

Digby
Percy
Rafferty
Milo

BumpAndGrind · 04/02/2015 01:37

Emmett
Morris

RL20 · 04/02/2015 09:29

Buttwing how have you got on with using the name Rocco?
Yes I do love Kit, too!

Peggyundercrackers do you have any suggestions? Or just a negative comment that isn't wanted on this post Smile

I also like Reagen (think that's how you spell it) but we know a lady who has a son Reagen so it's a bit too close to home unfortunately!

I love Levison with Lev as a nickname

findingherfeet · 04/02/2015 11:49

River is amazing.

I like Flint too.

dangerrabbit · 04/02/2015 20:25

Balonz.

Shrekandprincessfiona · 04/02/2015 20:40

Heath
Dexter
Zaine
Darius
Raphael

I know an Ezra and I think Albie is a nicer alternative to Alfie. Just my opinion.

Aherdofmims · 05/02/2015 12:11

Yay, my son's name is on here a couple of times, although you've suggested the other spelling (pronounced same).

I really love Aneurin as suggested above (shortened to Nye) but am too chicken. I would more likely have used Aneura for a girl.

I wanted Frederick for DS's middle name but I let DH choose as I had picked DD's middle name (both first names a consensus). There are a lot of Freddies I agree but Frederick is cool.

Letmeeatcakecakecake · 05/02/2015 14:23

My sons name is here 6 times haha! (Dexter)
My brother once (Red)
If DC due April is a boy his names been mentioned (Jaxon)

My favourite boys names which my DP vetoed are;
Atlas
Hector

Strokethefurrywall · 05/02/2015 17:42

Bodhi
Reef
Knox

Strokethefurrywall · 05/02/2015 17:44

And I would have used all of them except they didn't go with our surname!

albertcampionscat · 05/02/2015 20:32

Dashiell
Kester

BlueChampagne · 06/02/2015 16:14

Jared

Wailywailywaily · 06/02/2015 17:15

Hugo
Hubert
Hector

MamaLazarou · 07/02/2015 09:59

Bodhi? Rhymes with Bogey?
