Possible problem with DD's chosen name

Hello, we love the name Molly for our impending DD but are slightly worried it doesn't sound right with our surname which is the same as the famous actress called Joan and begins with Coll. The problem is the repetition of the 'oll' sound in Molly and Coll*.

Do you think it sounds ok or should we forget about the name Molly altogether? It is my absolute favourite and could really do with your help!

Ach, I think it's OK. If it's an issue for you would you consider calling her Margaret or Matilda nn Molly?

I think if you love the name do it. It sounds ok, she ll be known as Molly mainly anyway. My DH's name is a bit like this with only one vowel difference but the same first and third letter, I suppose it does sound a bit matchy but it never occurred to me before.

My SIL has a name similar to this but with alliterative initials and actually it's fine.
So I think yours would be fine too.

I think it sounds too sing-song and I wouldnt use it, I think kids would quickly pick up on making it into silly rhymes and such at school too

My D.D is Molly. I don't like the name now though but it really suits her.

Speaking as someone who grew up with a daft name combination I can tell you that the answer is many, many times.

You can get away with a little bit of rhyming, but that is too much I think.

I like the name. But not with your surname, it's too much of a 'run on'.

To the person who asked how often a person's full name is used, the answer, if you have another child with the same first name in your class in school, is all day every day! DS1, for instance, had three Katies in his primary school class whose full names were used to distinguish them. It just sounds a bit twee and rhyme-y to me and she will be called something like Mollycolly by her friends.
