Hi ya all Smile

My baby will be called Eleanor (family name Biggin) and I need a middle name that goes well with both of them. I like how Eleanor and Biggin sound well together and I am worried a lame middle name would ruin everything.I don't mind an old fashioned/ modern name as long as it sounds great with the rest. Any ideas?

Claire springs to mind for me! I think it needs to be a fairly short name

CrimboHornedSnowflake · 24/12/2014 20:32

Not Eleanor Claire! That's my name and you forever get Eclair jokes

iusedtobecool · 24/12/2014 20:43

Eleanor Lily?

TheHorseHasBolted · 24/12/2014 21:07

I've known two nice girls called Eleanor Grace so that was my first thought, but I also love the suggestion of Eleanor Mary.

Biscuitsneeded · 24/12/2014 21:15

I am Eleanor Jane (thank you, parents of good taste in the early 70s!) but I think Eleanor Mary is lovely too.

Deerhound · 24/12/2014 21:19

Ooh, I like Eleanor lily. Eleanor Mary also good

Deerhound · 24/12/2014 21:20

For some reason Mary makes a good link between Eleanor and Biggins...

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 24/12/2014 21:22

If I'd had a DD instead of DSs she'd have been Eleanor May.

qazxc · 24/12/2014 21:24

DD is Eleanor Roisin (which is Rose in Irish, DSIL is Roisin and my greatgrandmother was Rose so it has family connections).

Longdistance · 24/12/2014 21:28

I have an Eleanor Lilly.

Stillnoidea · 24/12/2014 21:29

Eleanor Kate

shuckleberryfinn · 24/12/2014 21:29

My daughter is Eleanor Anwen though for my own childish amusement I once convinced her her middle name was Handbasket.

Rose?

pao95 · 25/12/2014 14:20

Rose is a nice name, though I am not sure about the association EleaNOR- ROse.

Not too keen on names inspired by popular TV shows/movies. :/

I think Eleanor Jane is lovely.

How about Eleanor Joy?

BikeRunSki · 25/12/2014 15:09

Eleanor Iris

Romeyroo · 25/12/2014 15:12

Of the names suggested, I really like Eleanor Jean, sounds lovely.

pao95 · 25/12/2014 15:51

@romeyroo: Did you mean Jane?

Romeyroo · 25/12/2014 15:58

No, on the first page a poster suggested Eleanor Jean, which I really like.
But I like all the J sounds after Eleanor; Eleanor Joy or Jane are also nice, but to me, there is something about Eleanor Jean which is quite black and white movie star-like, I don't know. Eleanor Jane is more girlish to me.

Romeyroo · 25/12/2014 15:59

But both are goodSmile

pao95 · 25/12/2014 17:09

I don't remember seeing Eleanor Jean on the first page, so that's why I thought you meant Jane. :)

I keep seeing the initials E.D.B. or E.L.B. It seems my mind is set on finding a middle name which starts with a D or a L though it doesn't look like there are many options.

I am Eleanor Kay

I like having 3 syllables followed by 1 syllable.

moxon · 25/12/2014 17:33

I also loooove Eleanor!
Would second Eleanor Rose and Eleanor Ruth and Eleanor Elizabeth
How about also:
Eleanor Marjorie
Eleanor Esther
Eleanor Harriet
Eleanor Vera
Eleanor Theresa

moxon · 25/12/2014 17:38

Oh, in terms of D or L:
Denise (maybe too 80s?)
Dominique
Debra
Desdemona (maybe too much?)
Louise
Louisa
Leontine
Lilith
Loretta (too blues-y?)
Lorraine (too 70s maybe?)
