Just that really. This is dd3 and we are struggling to find a name, but do like this. Would you say Rom-illy or Ro-milly? What do you think of it?

Other vague considerations are India & Grace. Any help appreciated!

I prefer romilly to India and grace.

Romm (rhymes with Tom) -illy (rhymes with Tilly). Emphasis on first syllable.

It is on our shortlist for DD2. Other names which are or have been on our list:

  • madeleine
  • eloise
  • cecily
  • mia
  • marianne
  • serena
  • sylvie
  • dulcie
  • miranda

ROM-illee.

I know a Chloe who spells it Clhoe. No idea if that's her idea or her parents. I can't help but want to spell it properly though! Same whenever I see a Micheal.

We have a Romilly and she's pronounced Rom-illy. We get lots of people telling us they like it although she does get called Emily by people who mishear.

We had Seren, Aurelia and Genevieve on our list in case you want other suggestions.

Rom - illy. I like it. I also like Grace. India is awful.

elfran · 16/06/2020 07:31

It's my best friend's daughter's name, and it's Rom-i-lee as others have said. I just love it.

DomDoesWotHeWants · 16/06/2020 07:33

Emphasis on the first syllable is the correct way. There's a Romilly Park in Barry S Wales. That's how it's pronounced.

The Romilly I know pronounces it Rom-illy.
