Samuel and Margaret, called Sam and Maggie?

A boy will be William called Will. But I have absolutely no idea for a girl. Help!

I actually really like Harriet, with Hattie as a nn. But Hattie and Maggie sound a bit twee. Or too similar, or something!

"Elizabeth and Anna are front runners but I'm not sure on any of the nicknames for Elizabeth."

You know you could have Elsa as a nn for Elizabeth, right? Wink
Elsa and Anna, where have I heard that combo before? ...

What about Hettie as a NN for Harriet? It's less similar, but it may sound twee to American ears. (Twee is usually deemed fine in the UK, so hard for me to judge.)

What about Antigone, NN Tiggie? Or too similar to Maggie?

SanityClause · 01/12/2014 07:27

Sylvia, NN Sylvie? (I know Sylvie is a name in its own right, but I love Sylvia.)

PomPomPingPong · 01/12/2014 08:12

Jennifer

bouncinbean · 01/12/2014 09:01

If you like Anna you could use that as nickname with full name of Annaliese

They all sound lovely with other dc names.

Jess or Harriet (nn Harry)

TsukuruTazaki · 01/12/2014 13:18

How rude to call a name "revolting"! For what it's worth I think Abigail is very nice.

My suggestion was going to be Josephine / Josie but I see someone else already mentioned.

ToffeeCaramel · 01/12/2014 13:44

I think Rosie and Maggie belong in the same bracket. I love them both.

ToffeeCaramel · 01/12/2014 13:46

Oops. I missed that Rosie was out

Pelicangiraffe · 02/12/2014 06:18

Josephine nn josie

Jemima with nn Jemma

Phyllis with no nn

Phillippa with nick name Pip or Pippy

Juliet with nn jules

Or maggie and Norah

eatyourveg · 02/12/2014 16:26

Have you thought of Eleanor with the nn Nell instead of the usual Ellie? I think Maggie and Nell sound good together.

Pelicangiraffe · 02/12/2014 17:44

Yes nell with full name Elinor goes well

loislines · 02/12/2014 17:59

I think you should definitely revisit Frances. Sam, Maggie and Frankie sound super together.

akorda · 02/12/2014 19:26

love Eleanor nn Nell and Francesca, nn Frankie. And another push for Flora! Think these three would go so well with your other names.

Think these are a bit more interesting that Elizabeth and Anna - classic, yes, but also a bit dull and "safe" I think.

CheerfulYank · 02/12/2014 19:29

I do like Sylvie a lot but I want the DC to have their own initial. So Susannah is out too, though I do love it.

I'm not sure about Annie because DH is Andy and I feel like I'd be saying "no, not you" a lot. :o

I love Eleanor and Elinor but our niece is Ella so I'd like to avoid it.

DH likes Isabelle, which is SO popular around here. Most are Isabella called Bella, I suppose. I prefer Isobel with Izzy as a nn.

I still like Frances but not Frankie.

Sigh.

I know a Maggie and Laura. Think that's a lovely combination. Laura is a much underused name I think.

What about Tessa?

Pelicangiraffe · 02/12/2014 19:48

Alberta nn Bea

Thumbnutstwitchingonanopenfire · 03/12/2014 11:27

What about Franny instead of Frankie? Or is that too close to Fanny for you?
