How is the name Skype perceived in the UK?

We are thinking of this name for baby if it' a girl (due in just over a week) , but I am not sure what people think of it in the UK. I am oringinally from Australia, where it is thought of quite well and would be a good choice, possibly thought of as slightly hippy as it seemed popular in the 70s.

What are your perceptions, the connotations of it here?

Soleil and Colette are names, but not Solette afaik.

And it is only one vowel away from isolette,

I think it's Italian for insoles.

Ha ha my first thought was wow what a modern choice!!

I love the name Skye but I have a family history and a huge emotional attachment to the island.
