Dear MNers. Hoping you might all be able to help us out as we’re having real difficulty agreeing a name for DS due soon. For DD, we went 'rare'. Weren’t sure we were quite ready to find some ultra-weird name, but equally there are millions of Kates, Elizabeths and so ons.

For DD though, we’re thinking a much more traditional name, perhaps inspired by close friends/family. What are MNers’ thoughts on either Sean, Daniel or Balonz? Many thanks in advance!

Oh, I've been and had a nosey around.
I backed out veeeerly quietly and carefully Grin

cedricsneer · 02/10/2014 17:13

Um, it's ironic thewarn. But you'd get that obviously.

wantacatplease · 02/10/2014 17:17

Mothering Overlords...brilliant!

DecaffTastesWeird · 02/10/2014 17:18

Daniel

wantacatplease · 02/10/2014 17:19

Pablo Honey, The Bends, Ok Computer...anyone want to join in the rest?

TheHouseatWhoCorner · 02/10/2014 17:21

Can you imagine the hours of sad-eyed Balonz hopelessly twirling the displays that have named mugs/fridge magnets/handkerchiefs/buckets and spades/hair clips/purses etc that reside in every gift shop in the land?

Mind you, at least there won't be any sibling rivalry/sulking because Data found her name on a novelty octopus.

CheeseEqualsHappiness · 02/10/2014 17:28

Whoever created this thread and whatever their motives, I haven't laughed so much at a thread in ages!

foppyish · 02/10/2014 17:30

Hi mumsnetters!

I post on "Drowned in Sound". If ever there was a time for me to sign up for mumsnet, now is possibly that time, or if I ever became a mum. I'm not a mum though, am I still allowed to post on here?

All the best.

foppyish · 02/10/2014 17:31

Also, your sign up process is far easier and less full of nonsense than the drowned in sound one, there weren't any questions on mothering or anything.

wantacatplease · 02/10/2014 17:32

Depends, floppy. What are your thoughts on Child and Parent parking spaces?

wantacatplease · 02/10/2014 17:32

Err foppy. My phone did that!

OwlCapone · 02/10/2014 17:33

What acronym do you use for second born children?

NSC. Neglected Subsequent Child.

PFB is a joke about how parents tend to behave when landed with a baby for the very first time. It's like someone steals your common sense. It's not as twee ans sickly as you seem to think :o

foppyish · 02/10/2014 17:35

How do I reply directly to people?

Child and Parent parking spaces......................I'd say they are............a bad NO WAIT..........GOOD THING! Am I right?

wantacatplease · 02/10/2014 17:37

Trick question, actually. Mumsnet is bitterly divided over the whole issue.

You can't reply directly to anyone but usually we bold someone's name for attention.

Welcome!

SanityClause · 02/10/2014 17:39

Wrong, foppy!

Parent and Child parking is a marketing ploy by supermarkets and shopping centres to encourage parents to shop there.

They are nice to have, but not an essential, and anyone who believes they are on a par with disabled parking spaces is quickly put right.

Okay, what about toilet brushes? What do you think of them? Do you have one next to each loo, or are they the work of the devil?

foppyish · 02/10/2014 17:40

Thanks wantacatplease.

Also, about the name, I'm #teambalonz
balonx is also nice.

foppyish · 02/10/2014 17:42

SanityClause

If toilet brushes don't go next to the loo, where do they go?
