We are having a girl in 7 weeks time. We decided on the name Darcie- Mae (well hubby really liked it and I did too although like other names.) We have been calling her Darcie for months, told everyone thats her name and hubby brought bunting with her name on it!

The other day he heard the name Arabella and I love it.

We need some more names.... I like vintage name, Martha, Edith, Matilda and also Harper.

What other names might we like? Already have a Phoebe and Georgina and a dog called Florence lol

Phoebe and Georgina are lovely names.

Arabella is lovely, too - there's also Annabel, Mirabel... Am personally not keen on Edith or Matilda, but they are much nicer than Darcie-May, IMO. Martha is fine, too. Agatha is great!

To go with your DD's names, what about something like Dorothy, Rowena, Sibylla, Miranda, Sylvia, Vanessa, Tatiana, Philomena, Rosalind or Rosamund?

MagnificentMaleficent · 14/08/2014 10:17

Verity
Erin
Francesca
Theodora
Isadora
Leonora

rootypig · 14/08/2014 10:18

Martha is a brilliant, brilliant name. I would have used if it didn't clash horribly with stupid DH's surname.

Clarabum · 14/08/2014 10:18

I also second the sentiments above. I'm sorry but Darcie-May is not comparable with your other children's lovely lovely names.
I have a Martha and I love it(obviously).
Other names I love are
Margot
Flora
Clara(obvs)
I liked Elsa before the Frozen fame.
Matilda
Harriet
Edith
These are all lovely. I'd ditch Harper purely for the association with the Beckhams.

FanjolinaJolie · 14/08/2014 10:25

I think your other daughters' names are lovely.

I think Darcie is OK, not wild on that spelling though. I'm sorry but anything - Mae is awful IMO. Completely overused.

Martha is lovely. As is Matilda

FanjolinaJolie · 14/08/2014 10:26

No no no to Harper.

BackspaceEnter · 14/08/2014 14:11

Darcy goes well with your other DC's names. Please not Darcie-Mae though it's awful.

Darcy Matilda.

Sophronia · 14/08/2014 15:15

I don't like Darcie-Mae at all. Martha would be perfect with your other DDs names.

Legionofboom · 14/08/2014 17:53

Martha is a beautiful name.

Darcie-Mae is not.

MrsLettuce · 14/08/2014 18:03

Arabella is a wonderful name. Martha, Edith and Mathilda are good too.

yy to Elizabeth nn Bessie. Has been used as a nn for Beatrice too.

Maya?

The child formerly known as Darcie-Mae has had a very luck and narrow escape!

Have you had a play about on Nymbler?

hudsonriver1 · 14/08/2014 18:27

Than you. So far today we have come up with arabella, tallulah matilda

OP posts:
WowserBowser · 14/08/2014 18:36

Tabitha?

minipie · 14/08/2014 18:57

Arabella and Matilda work - not sure about Tallulah

Georgina, Phoebe and...

Annabel
Marianne
Madeleine
Eloise
Romilly
Rosalind
Tessa
Catherine
Isabel/Isabella
Imogen
Cara
Clarissa

HolgerDanske · 14/08/2014 20:06

I agree, talullah doesn't match.

OublietteBravo · 14/08/2014 21:17

Has anyone suggested Eleanor?

hudsonriver1 · 14/08/2014 21:31

Not too keen on Eleanor. We still like arabella

OP posts:
rockybalboa · 14/08/2014 21:35

Arabella is gorgeous. Darcie-Mae is not. Why do you need to decide now? Wait til she's born!

HolgerDanske · 14/08/2014 23:09

I think Arabella is a lovely choice and if you both like it, why not!

Misfitless · 14/08/2014 23:27

I really don't like Arabella, Darcie-Mai, even less so, sorry!

If I ever had another daughter, she would be called Esther. What about that OP?

I think Esther goes well with Georgina!

I don't think Tallulah fits well with the names of your other DDs.

Gennz · 14/08/2014 23:40

I love Phoebe and Georgina. Not keen on DM.

On my list for a girl were:
Dorothy
Matilda
Beatrice
Josephine

I also like Eleanor, Tabitha and Jemima but we can't use them for various reasons. I love Florence too but I see the dog has claimed it! Grin

(in fact we can't use any of them as having a boy! next time!)

rockybalboa · 14/08/2014 23:58

I didn't see you comment about Bessie. Bessie is lovely! What about Esther? Or Estelle? If I'd had many girls they would have been Polly or Heidi.

rockybalboa · 14/08/2014 23:59

Many girls?! ANY girls that was supposed to be!

clary · 15/08/2014 00:18

I love your old-lady names, Edith, Martha and Matilda, OP.

I also like Florence, Agnes, Constance, Mabel, Cecily.

Misfitless · 15/08/2014 00:26

What about Jean?

I think it's beautiful?

Misfitless · 15/08/2014 00:27

I second Josephine!
