Basically that....

Is it:
Low-ki (long first syllable)
Lo-ki (short first syllable)

Thanks! Smile

My friend's son is Low-key...

Sleepy if you know your Milton then you'd use Lucifer, not Satan...

How about Levi? A little similar.

Gingerjv · 22/07/2014 17:29

Just Lo-ki

I love the name Loki. If it weren't for the obvious problems, I'd have wanted to call a child it. As it is, it's the ideal name for a gerbil.

REminds me of the stuff that comes out of your fadge after you've had a baby - Lochia?

florascotia · 23/07/2014 13:56

In Iceland, home of the Norse sagas, they say 'Lock-ee'. You can listen here: www.forvo.com/word/loki/

Even if only mythological, Loki was a really horrible character.

HillyHolbrook · 24/07/2014 11:05

Low-Ki like the god.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/07/2014 11:43

I have always pronounced it Low-Ki (with the i pronounced eye).

And I think there must be different pronunciations of lochia, scottishmummy, because when I did the obstetrics allocation of my nurse training in Manchester, it was pronounced Low-Key-A, so with a K not a CH. Regional differences, I assume.

florascotia · 24/07/2014 20:21

The Norse god is Lock-ee, not Low-Ki.

ikeaismylocal · 25/07/2014 13:31

Here in Sweden it is pronounced lock-ee but the English people I know with a child called Loki say low-key.

I think it is a fantastic name, it would be our number 1 choice if we didn't already know 3 children called Loki.
