Harriet or Isobel.

Congratulations!

Delphiniumsblue · 10/05/2014 07:16

Harriet or Isobel.

Only1scoop · 10/05/2014 07:19

Very unusual for me but I find all choices rather nice except Mia....

Congratulations Smile

Constantsarechanging · 10/05/2014 07:47

Thanks, Mia is a curveball that was added yesterday (the others have been on a list for months)..

LOVE Erin.

Not keen on any of the others.

BlueStarsAtNight · 10/05/2014 09:54

I love Harriet, really like Isobel and Erin, and not keen on Mia.
Have you tried calling her any of them for a while to see if one feels right? Tho at only 3 days it's hard to tell I guess!

Cookiepants · 10/05/2014 09:57

Erin or Isobel both lovely.

alita7 · 10/05/2014 10:14

I really like the top for but I don't like jess and edie.

I'll put them in order of preference:

Mia
Erin
Harriet
Isobel

QueenOfThorns · 10/05/2014 10:18

I like them all! Your spelling of Isobel is the nicest way to write that name. A friend called her baby Harriet and I was slightly jealous that we hadn't thought of it. I think those two are the best of your list, but the others are good as well.

Martorana · 10/05/2014 10:20

Harriet is lovely- and really unusual. Hatty for short?

Have you tried calling her each name for a day and seeing which one suits her?

manicinsomniac · 10/05/2014 10:25

Harriet - quite like it
Isobel/Izzy - Love it
Mia - quite like it
Erin - really like it
Jess - I wouldn't use it on its own but I love Jessica
Edie - Again, I wouldn't use it on its own but quite like Edith

MollyBdenum · 10/05/2014 10:51

I like Harriet best. Not keen on Edie as a complete name, but Edith is lovely and she could be Edie for everyday. Isobel is very nice, but there are lots and lots of little Izzies around. I'm not wild about the others.

jemcee · 10/05/2014 10:56

I Wouldn't have Mia - but only because it could be pronounced two ways Mee-uh and My-uh.

Would drive me crazy! :D

jemcee · 10/05/2014 10:57

and yeah, Isobel would get spelled differently ALL the time :)

But hey that's my niggle, probably not yours Smile

UriGeller · 10/05/2014 11:02

Not Harriet, its awful! I'd go for Isobel or Erin. Maybe both.

Angelto5 · 10/05/2014 11:10

I love the name Isobel but I love it spelled isobelle (French meaning beautiful) nn izzy is also lovely.
I also like Harriet but depends if ppl shorten it to Harry.

whattimeisitanyway · 10/05/2014 11:22

Harriet or Isobel (not Izzy)

Viviennemary · 10/05/2014 11:25

I like Isobel best by far. Not keen on Harriet. Erin is OK.

LauraChant · 10/05/2014 11:27

My favourite is Harriet. As others have said Isobel is lovely, especially spelt like that, but at a rough count my DS (6) has approx eight friends/ schoolmates/ relations called some variant on Isobel/ Isabelle/ Izzy/ Bella. But you might not mind the popularity.

Pandora452 · 10/05/2014 11:29

Erin or Harriet here

Pandora452 · 10/05/2014 11:29

Erin or Harriet here

emsyj · 10/05/2014 17:12

Mia is my least favourite name - the others are all nice, but I wouldn't use Isobel myself as it is so so so popular round here - I grew up being one of four in my class at school and wouldn't want the same for my DCs. Every other little girl I meet is called Isobel.

sandberry · 10/05/2014 17:39

Harriet

Isobel-too popular and multiple spellings
Erin-a maybe but it feels like a made up name to me, sort of US fake Irish like Colleen
Mia-a short form of other names and trendy will date
Jess-not on its own but Jessica is fine or at a push Jessamine
Edie-better as Edith, I love Edith but Edie on its own not so much

Constantsarechanging · 10/05/2014 21:57

Another day of baby girl no name, we are leaning towards Erin.. Isobel/Izzy a close second and Harriet holding on..just DH doesn't like Hattie as a nickname which seems inevitable..

We are conscious of Isobel/Izzy's popularity.. though we are in Scotland so not sure if it's so common? We only know one and she's 28..

Any Scottish members with insight into the popularity of these names?
