Lisabeth?

I've posted many many threads discussing how I can have the nickname Libby without using Elizabeth as my dsds names are too similar - can't have names with el in.

I'm not keen on Lisbeth or liberty and I don't want to give a nickname without a 'full name'. I thought I liked Olivia (livvy Is similar so was hoping to stretch to libby as me and dp would never call her anything but libby so it shouldn't matter) but there are so many Olivias and the more I think about it the less I like it so not a good idea really.

So is Lisabeth a name? If not then do you think it sounds ok to use? I think I've exhausted all other options...

Honestly, I wouldn't. It doesn't look right.

chipsandpeas · 06/05/2014 19:33

i would think it sounded too much like elizabeth tbh

just go with libby....all this talk nicknames and full names is rubbish imo

bakingtins · 06/05/2014 19:38

Just call her Libby.

Lisabeth looks like either you've missed out the E or it's some hyphenated squished together name, she's going to get called Lisa-Beth.

dyslexicdespot · 06/05/2014 19:48

How about Lisabet? It is a lovely Scandinavian name.

dyslexicdespot · 06/05/2014 19:49

It's pronounced 'Lisa-bet'.

AMI88 · 06/05/2014 19:53

Or Liza? I actually do like lisabeth, I also love Lisbeth x

BikeRunSki · 06/05/2014 19:55

It looks like a typo for Elisabeth.

OwlCapone · 06/05/2014 19:56

I think it looks like you've simply forgotten to put the E on Elisabeth.

AndiPandi · 06/05/2014 19:56

If you are going to use Libby mainly I would just use Elizabeth, it won't matter that half-siblings names also start with El. Or what about Lizanne

susiedaisy · 06/05/2014 19:57

It looks and sounds like you have forgotten the E. Sorry.

AWombWithoutARoof · 06/05/2014 20:00

What about Annaliese?

I'd go Libby myself.

BikeRunSki · 06/05/2014 20:07

Isobel?

Raskova · 06/05/2014 20:09

I'd think you were too lazy to say/write the E.

Why don't you just go for Libby as a name on its own?

I suppose at a stretch that Alyssa could have Libby for short, if Elizabeth could.

littlegreengloworm · 06/05/2014 20:10

Could you go for Elizabeth on the birth cert but announce her name as Libby. That way it doesn't matter that it is similar to dsd name?

ZingWatermelon · 06/05/2014 20:13

Lisabeth is fine

or how about Lisabetta?

atypicalwotsit · 06/05/2014 21:30

Libby good on its own

Swoosg · 06/05/2014 21:32

Liberty? With Libby as the nn.

StealthPolarBear · 06/05/2014 21:33

My aunt is Lizbeth (but known as Liz rather than Libby).
How about Liesel?

alita7 · 07/05/2014 02:19

maybe Lisabetta hmm

I just think with dp have el... el.. other name... Elizabeth it would be a bit much.

I don't know, I'm not keen on the idea of a name from a country I have no ties to.

I was set on Elizabeth with libby as the nickname since my little brother was born and i was told I could name him if he was a girl, lydia was a close second but dp has changed his mind on that and I can't find anything else I love.

sigh

It's hard to say without knowing DSDs name but I like it when family names have a similarity as it shows a connection.

For example when everyone has a name starting with the same letter. Depending on how different the names are after the EL it could be a really nice touch Grin
