What do you think? Will people hear it and assume "nosy parker" and would said child likely to be nicknamed "nosy parker"?

I thought "Yes M'Lady".

I know a teenage girl (US) named Parker. And tbh it's really grown on me. She is a lovely girl, sporty, confident and happy. I will always have that assocation with the name.

BeeKayP · 15/04/2014 15:14

I immediately think of Desperate Housewives with Lynette and her 3 boys, Porter Parker and Preston.

I don't love it but don't hate it either! I can predict a lot of people on here won't like it. It's a "surname first name" which isn't very popular amongst many!!

FourForksAche · 15/04/2014 15:14

yes m'lady,
nosey parker

apart from that it's ok, I wouldn't though.

BeeKayP · 15/04/2014 15:16

Is this for a girl or boy? If a girl I would suggest Piper too. Think it's quite sweet!
Makes me think of Taylor Schilling's character in Orange is the New Black who is beautiful

meditrina · 15/04/2014 15:16

Yes M'lady.

And Nosy Parker is nigh on inevitables at some stage.

I would think it too difficult to live with in Britain.

mirren3 · 15/04/2014 15:16

It's a nice name, and certainly nicely unusual but not too weird......unfortunately I know a 4 year old Parker who has put me off the name forever.

MaxsMummy2012 · 15/04/2014 15:20

I like it - my first thought wasn't nosy parker it was spiderman.

LynetteScavo · 15/04/2014 15:25

Obviously, I like it. Smile

I like it...it's the name of David Boreanez' character's son in Bones.
Mmmm David Boreanez.....

BeeKayP · 15/04/2014 15:35

Hahaha LynetteScavo

DoctorTwo · 15/04/2014 15:35

He'll forever be getting sent to Greggs to 'fetch the rolls'.

BackforGood · 15/04/2014 15:39

Don't do it to the poor child.

NadiaWadia · 15/04/2014 15:41

Hideous. Possibly the worst of the surname type names, maybe because of the 'nosy parker' associations. Possibly they don't use that phrase in the USA, hence its popularity there. The sound of the word isn't great either.

If you absolutely have to use it, I hope to goodness it's not for a girl, because it's just ugly. Sorry to be so blunt.

squoosh · 15/04/2014 16:15

I agree with Nadia. I'm not a massive fan of surnames as first names, although some of them aren't so bad, but this has to be the worst example. Even as a surname it's pretty unimpressive.

mumofthemonsters808 · 15/04/2014 16:22

Very popular round here for both males and females. I always associate it with a boy though, I quite like it.

pilates · 15/04/2014 16:25

It's awful, sorry.

SinglePringle · 15/04/2014 16:29

I really like it for a girl. Not for a boy though.

weatherall · 15/04/2014 21:47

Faye Ripley called her DD Parker Posey, I like it.

squoosh · 15/04/2014 21:49

Isn't there an actress called Parker Posey? She the indie darling of the 90's.

DramaAlpaca · 15/04/2014 21:51

Dislike it intensely for both boys & girls.

Sorry.

libertytrainers · 15/04/2014 21:53

i think 'knoll'
