I've already written a thread on changing my bub's name.

Just want a poll on which is preferred by the Mumsnet gang..so which would you go with,

Tabitha or Nola?

Nola.

Tabitha is ok but not in the same league imo.

Breezy1985 · 06/04/2014 08:58

Nola Smile

Hawknotdove · 06/04/2014 09:35

Nola is really pretty and unusual - gets my vote. Tabitha is also a great name, though you would need to be certain enough of it to ignore people making reference to cats and witches. If you are not 100% sure and have been sensitive to others' reactions to Nola, this could be difficult?

bewellnell · 06/04/2014 09:46

well, thanks everyone. These threads have seriously reassured me that Nola IS a beautiful name and was the right choice!!!

Nola! It's gorgeous. Tabitha is awful (sorry!)

vichill · 06/04/2014 09:48

nola. tabitha is ok but if shortened to tabby sounds silly.

ConcreteElephant · 06/04/2014 09:52

Nola. It's lovely, it's elegant.

I like Tabitha but it does make me think of cats. says the woman whose DD has the same name as her childhood dog

guineapig2014 · 06/04/2014 10:14

Tabitha and Nola as mn.

Whatsyourpoint · 06/04/2014 10:40

Nola is a fantastic name, unusual and cool. Your DD will thank you for that.

Tabitha is a bit meh and sounds like a cat

Allthequeenshorses · 06/04/2014 10:47

Nola, lovely name.

Benchmark · 06/04/2014 15:03

I probably prefer Tabitha, but Nola is a pretty name.
I think you are right to stick with it :)

Sleepthief · 06/04/2014 19:13

Nola

Dreya · 06/04/2014 20:06

I read your other post. IMO Tabitha is a nice name. Nola is absolutely beautiful. Go with your heart OP x

LadyDowagerHatt · 06/04/2014 23:04

I like Nola. It is a strong sounding, non-fussy name and that appeals to my taste. But it still has a pretty, feminine feel to it.

Nola.

Why do you expect overwhelming approval when you tell people your daughter's name? If you like it, who cares what other people think. I rarely get a compliment on my daughter's name but I don't really care.

zebralegs · 09/04/2014 21:06

Nola is a gorgeous name. Definitely Nola. I do like Tabitha as well, though.

nikki1391 · 01/05/2014 18:02

100% Nola

not a fan of Tabitha

flavourflave · 01/05/2014 18:18

I knew aNola at school and never thought Lola. However Lola is a very now name and I didn't know any years ago. People are going to have more of a reaction over Tabitha because its so marmite. Those who love it will say wow, great name. Nola is a genler name so people won't have such a big reaction and you may think they are underwhelmed. Both are great but what do you like best and what does dd suit the most?

Nospringflower · 01/05/2014 18:26

Not keen on Nola at all. Much prefer Tabitha.

maggiethemagpie · 01/05/2014 21:18

I'm in the Tabitha camp. Don't like Nola. Prefer Noelle!
