Heard this name today and think it is gorgeous! I think it can be short for Hepzibah...which I don't like!

What do you think? I also like Effie but I don't think it sounds great with our surname as it has an f sound in it!

I like Aoife - pronounced ee-fa

BobaFetaCheese · 03/04/2014 18:58

flora, as a Zelda fan Epona is an awesome name to me Grin

There'a also an Effra Road in Brixton!

I like Ettie/Etta (but if you're in sarf landaan like me it'll sound like ateher')

JacqueslePeacock · 03/04/2014 18:59

What about Eponine? As in Les Miserables.

JacqueslePeacock · 03/04/2014 19:00

I like Eppie, too, but as a nickname not a full name I think. Reminds me of Silas Marner.

RabbitPies · 03/04/2014 19:00

It makes me think of epi pens, but it's better than Effie, which sounds like someone swearing. 'Effing'.

Ludways · 03/04/2014 19:04

Epi-pen

There's at least one child in every class with one.

rootypig · 03/04/2014 19:06

Another one for 'having an eppy' here. Still shrieked by countless schoolchildren across the country. I really wouldn't.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 03/04/2014 19:08

Epi-pen here, too, I'm afraid.

TheBigBumTheory · 03/04/2014 19:08

Penelope has similar sounds?

Or Pippa

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 03/04/2014 19:11

Hettie

ChickenMe · 04/04/2014 00:06

Elfie?

Effra Road in Brixton makes me think of Efrafa the evil Warren in Watership Down

TheHamster · 04/04/2014 07:43

Pen for me too.

As an aside, I know a kid called Epping.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 04/04/2014 07:54

Effie for euphemia
Aphra ( is that a girls or boys name?)
Aoife
All ok. Eppie absolutely not.

NewtRipley · 04/04/2014 08:16

Elvie - short for Elvira I think 9but you don't have to use that)
Edie - short for Edith - ditto
Sylvie
Bonnie
Cassie

florascotia · 04/04/2014 08:39

Was watching free-gift DVD of old film last night - The Millionairess, starring Sophia Loren (oh, the frocks!!!). Her character was called Epifania (Epp-ee-FAH-nya). Any use?

BobPatSamandIgglePiggle · 04/04/2014 08:44

My mum used to tell us a atorry called 'eppy in the coal hole' so that was my first thought!

About a little girl who got locked in a coal shed. Will ask her if it was short for anything.

BobPatSamandIgglePiggle · 04/04/2014 08:45

What about emmie?

UriGeller · 04/04/2014 09:55
