Thoughts on "Wulfric Arthur"?

We thought about just "Wolf", too, but like the idea that with Wulfric he could go by Wolf or Rick. Thoughts?

I think Arthur Wulfric sounds better - he could still use Wolf or Rick as nn.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 05/03/2014 20:02

I like Arthur but not Wulfric - sorry.

I think if you like the nn Wolf, just go with Wolf. Wulfric could just as easily become Wully (woolly) as Wolf - and do you really want the nn Rick anyway?

alizeeod · 05/03/2014 20:06

Wulfric kinda sounds like "what the f..."

HyvaPaiva · 05/03/2014 20:17

I don't like the 'fric' ending because 'frick' is slang for 'fuck'. And 'Rick' is bad. Why him an Old English name and then use a very eighties nickname? In any case, Wulfric is awful, I'm afraid. It's also apparently a playable character in World of Warcraft.

Arthur is lovely though.

sonlypuppyfat · 05/03/2014 20:19

Both bloody awful.

TweenageAngst · 05/03/2014 20:21

Sorry sounds like a name from a computer game.

tonyblairsreallygoodlegsnbutt · 05/03/2014 20:24

Wulfie for short! I like it, but it would be unpopular I think.

Bowlersarm · 05/03/2014 20:25

Love love love Wolf.

Amandine29 · 05/03/2014 20:25

Arthur is lovely. Wulfric reminds me of Dumbledore.

roundtoit · 05/03/2014 20:27

poor kid stuck with Wulfric. Should be like France with a list of approved names so no poor little baby can be stuck with what I all
scrabble names. ( pick 6 letters and make a name up )

roundtoit · 05/03/2014 20:28

Call not all

AngryFeet · 05/03/2014 20:29

Arthur is ok. Wulfric is awful. Might be ok if you are German or something.

dyslexicdespot · 05/03/2014 20:31

I love it and would be overjoyed if DS became BBF with a little Wulfric.

BOFtastic · 05/03/2014 20:31

It sounds like a medieval fantasy-adventure TV show to me.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 06/03/2014 09:06

I LOVE Wulfric! But then I like Old English poetry. My opinion might be a bit skewed.

Dislike Arthur.

EverybodysStressyEyed · 06/03/2014 09:11

I think the f and th sounds clash

I also think wulfric is a speech impediment nightmare and it could all hinge on your surname anyway.

If you want wolf just go for wolf. Or just give him it as a nickname. It doesn't have to be on his birth certificate for him to be called that. He may not turn out to suit wolf anyway.

Martorana · 06/03/2014 09:13

Just remember you are naming an adult who currently is not able to consent. And who may not be the super cool, super confident 6ft4 hunk of manhood you are imagining.

Don't choose a name because you think it makes you look oh so cool and hipster and "individual". You don't have to live with it- your child does. Change your own name if you want to make a statement, and give your child a name he can live comfortably with whatever his future life holds for him.

AmysTiara · 06/03/2014 09:16

Arthur is the better name out of the two but im still not wild about it OP sorry

tammytoby · 06/03/2014 09:56

I know a little Wolfie. Short for Wolfgang. I like Wulfric too.

Not so keen on Arthur, sorry.

Prefer Wulfstan

Callani · 06/03/2014 14:28

I personally love it, but then I was all ready to call my DC after characters in HP so I'm probably not the best standard to go by!

MrsBungle · 06/03/2014 14:30

I'm not mad keen on either but I really detest 'rick'

BethGoLightly · 06/03/2014 14:34

Really don't like your names, sorry.

EirikurNoromaour · 06/03/2014 15:39

Terrible. Wulfric is awful, Arthur is fine but overkill after wulfric.
