Thoughts on "Wulfric Arthur"?

We thought about just "Wolf", too, but like the idea that with Wulfric he could go by Wolf or Rick. Thoughts?

I know it's not a made up name but please don't inflict Wulfric on your son. It's inviting some less than great nicknames and connotatios. I can hear the animal noises and the hairy wolf jokes already. Kids can be cruel and if I saw a CV with that name I wouldn't be able to stop a giggle. Sorry.

Wulfstan was on my list (Wulfie is the best ever nn for a boy I think) but I wasn't brave enough to do it. Wulfric is great too and Arthur is timeless. If you think it will work for your child then go for it!

AnnabelleLee · 07/03/2014 11:28

God really? Can you imagine being a shy 15 year old boy introducing yourself as Wulfric? Why would you do that to him?

Pigletin · 15/03/2014 15:21

Wulfric has got to be the worst name I have heard, sorry. And when you pair it with Arthur it is even worse. I hope you have some other options.

sanityawol · 15/03/2014 15:38

I know a Wulfric in real life - he's in his 40's and uses Wulf as his name... genuinely lovely bloke.

The name really suits him - he's a massive, hairy, tattoed biker with ear stretchers and facial piercings.

mrssmith79 · 15/03/2014 16:10

I'm so sorry but it sounds like one of those made up Facebook post names where you take the month you were born and the colour of your underpants or some such rubbish and end up with your Elf name or Stripper name...or in this case, Knightmare character name. Sorry.

clary · 15/03/2014 16:36

Arthur is a great name Grin

Wulfric is a bit out there for my taste - for sure he'll be the only one he ever meets!

CalamityKate · 15/03/2014 16:50

Why? Why would you do that to a child??

mrssmith79 · 15/03/2014 17:39

I fear OP, with only this post to their name, is somewhat having us on [sceptical]

mrssmith79 · 15/03/2014 17:39
Hmm
confuddledDOTcom · 15/03/2014 17:54

I like the name actually, but then I love history and our names have got bit of a history thing going on.

HyvaPaiva - what is a playable character in World of Warcraft? I've not heard that term before. Did you Google it and come across Wulfric's armoury page? If so I could give you a list of names that I know of that are also used - Isobel, Jenny, Erick, Sharon, Claire, Lily... - lots of people use their own name, it's getting hard to find character names on established realms now.

confuddledDOTcom · 15/03/2014 17:55

I haven't heard of a character called Wulfric either.

saintlyjimjams · 15/03/2014 18:06

I love Arthur but that's probably because I think Bradley James is hot hot hot. I'd probably agree that D'Artagnan is a good name at the moment (sod that it's a surname). Ie I am not up be trusted.Wulfric is awful though no hot people called Wulfric on tv

OwlCapone · 15/03/2014 18:09

Wulfric is awful. You are naming a child for life, it's not you that has to live with the name. He is a person, not a pet.

contortionist · 15/03/2014 18:28

Alfred is amongst my favourite Old English names - advised by elves.
I think I prefer Wulfstan to Wulfric.

alita7 · 15/03/2014 18:33

Sorry just puts me in mind of a hairy biker... I have a far few biker friends and they're great but I don't think it suits a baby.

WaxyDaisy · 15/03/2014 18:44

What's the MN test? If it sounds like it passes the "Space Cowboy" test, then it's a no.

Wulfric Arthur, Space Cowboy!

Yup, that one's a no.
