Love both Hamish and Hector and can't decide between them. Which do you prefer?

Hamish.

I dislike Hector. It sounds harsh, whereas Hamish is much softer & friendlier.

BrianTheMole · 05/02/2014 00:22

Hamish.

aGirlDownUnder1 · 05/02/2014 03:13

Hamish.

FixItUpChappie · 05/02/2014 03:46

Hamish - definately.

buttercrumble · 05/02/2014 03:54

Hamish

EugenesAxe · 05/02/2014 04:05

Hamish, on the basis that a 'Hector' is a term meaning a bully, after the Greek of that name. Or at least, person that features in Greek mythology. I think he was Greek but he might have been Trojan or something.

JapaneseMargaret · 05/02/2014 06:47

Gosh, no contest.

Hamish.

BobaFetaCheese · 05/02/2014 06:48

SanityClause · 05/02/2014 06:54

Hector, definitely.

thenoodlemachine · 05/02/2014 06:54

ANYTHING is better than Hector. Seriously. Anything.

So Hamish it is.

JackAubrey · 05/02/2014 06:56

Hector!
And he wasn't a bully. He was a Trojan; and he was a lovely man. Courageous, compassionate, lovely to his wife...

EmmaTeapots · 05/02/2014 07:16

Hamish

EugenesAxe · 05/02/2014 07:52

JackA - yeah you're right he was Trojan. It still means bully though; second definition. They also added in 'braggart'.

Hector. I am related to one so can't use it but it is a brilliant name.

pygmy · 05/02/2014 08:09

Hector; but I don't want it to become popular, so go with Hamish :)

Theonlyoneiknow · 05/02/2014 08:17

Hamish!!!!

dancemom · 05/02/2014 08:22

How about Seamus, Gaelic for Hamish?

StarsAboveYou · 05/02/2014 08:22

Hamish

Thewhingingdefective · 05/02/2014 08:26

Oh dear, is Hamish trendy? I have a Hamish.

Hector is cute too, but as a previous poster said, Hamish is softer sounding.

Aboyandabunny · 05/02/2014 08:33

Both are fabulous, I would struggle to pick between them too.

Felyne · 05/02/2014 08:39

Hamish gets my vote.

diddl · 05/02/2014 08:41

Hamish!

tammytoby · 05/02/2014 08:42

Hamish definitely!

Hector has an awful meaning as well as lack of nice nicknames (Heck?).
