What do you think about name Lushia or Luschia ? (Latin origin and pronounced as looo-shya) so far, me and my partner seem to be the only ones that really like it...:) What do you think?

I know, alvis, it was pre-emptive, and to explain why she might have written what she wrote. I'm guessing it's a bit tough if you come on a forum to ask about a name you love, and get negative response. It's honest, and it's what OP asked for, but still ... she's a person.

I'm still completely pissed off with a friend who said something so cutting about my first choice of name for my beloved, angel first-born that I didn't choose it. And every time I come across a child with that nam, I hate her just a little bit.

It's a weirdly personal thing.

Lucia is a lovely name but is always loo-chee-a to me (went to school with several Italian girls who pronounced it like this). Now know someone who pronounces it Lucy-a which just doesn't sound right!

I pop names on here all the time cat. I might not actually be pregnant yet but they are names I would genuinely consider using. I'm curious as to people's opinions but in reality I am quite confident in the names I like being quite good ones. Someone saying "no that's shit" doesn't bother me.

But if I liked a name that was probably going to cause a lifetime of irritation to my child/ meant something appalling in another, not wildly obscure, language I'd want to know.

I know for a fact my wider family are not going to like the names I eventually choose. My close family will though.

Obviously, you don't want people to porn your child's name but that's what will happen if you choose something like Lushia or Luschia.

Had a fondly remembered friend from my early teens called Lushena (sp?) And she was known as lush to many which I rather like as a nickname. I have never met anyone else called that. Re OP, I thought you were spelling Lucia ( so common a name now amongst certain types...) in an unique way! I am not keen on the name but i don't think it sounds like a vt infection though ;)

Hahahahaha someone has thrown a strop! If you can't deal with honest opionions OP them don't ask (personally it sounds like vaginal discharge to me...)
