Which do you prefer and why? I can't decide! Thanks.

Definitely Iris, DD was nearly this.

Dillydollydaydream · 16/01/2014 16:17

Iris. Like Isla too but it's quite popular round this way.

notso · 16/01/2014 16:22

Iris by a long shot.

Isla is ok.

Ida, no don't like it.

Iris

Another vote for Iris.

Ida

Ida

ProfondoRosso · 16/01/2014 17:34

Someone I know has a very cute wee Ida. I prefer Iris, though. Not very keen on Isla.

SecretRed · 16/01/2014 17:36

Iris

GlitzAndGiggles · 16/01/2014 17:36

Iris because I'm being biased and basing it on a relative :) second fav would be Isla

VoldysGoneMouldy · 16/01/2014 17:37

Ida. It's a beautiful name, very under used.

eatyourveg · 16/01/2014 17:48

Iris is lovely and very feminine

Isla isn't bad but I think of it as a Scottish name (which is fine if you're Scottish or have Scottish connections) just can't get Isla St Claire out of my head - sorry

Ida unfortunately sounds like an old woman whose best friends are Gladys, Reenee and Eunice

Charotte31 · 16/01/2014 17:52

Isla the best name in the world! Because my darling DD is one! :)

DorothyBastard · 16/01/2014 18:12

I like Ida and Iris. Not keen on Isla.

spiderlight · 16/01/2014 18:17

Isla. Beautiful. Iris and Ida are too old-ladyish.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 16/01/2014 18:18

Iris although I don't normally like flower names. Ida is an old woman from Coronation Street for me, really clunky name. Isla is ok if you are Scottish.

kawaii · 16/01/2014 18:18

Thanks for the feedback, I think I am going towards Iris, just hoped it wasn't too old ladyish / frumpy.

Isla I love but it's so 'now' and a bit popular.

Ida i've heard recently and seems unusual and quite chic.

Iris

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 16/01/2014 18:22

How about Iona?

bigTillyMint · 16/01/2014 18:23

Isla

Iris is sweet for a little girl
Ida is a frumpy old ladies name

BunnyLebowski · 16/01/2014 18:25

Iris.

Ida is a too grannyish even for me as a granny name lover.

Isla is bland and ridiculously popular right now. I know 6 different baby Islas Confused .

kawaii · 16/01/2014 18:26

I really like Iona but my surname has 'shoe' as the second syllable so would sound a bit like I own a shoe!

Iris or Isla.

I really don't get this "ok if you're Scottish or Dutch or whatever". If you like a name you can use it despite your place of birth. I get that it makes sense if you're choosing something difficult to pronounce eg. Eilidh but why limit yourself to names only from your country?

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 16/01/2014 19:05

We couldn't use Iona either for a similar reason! Then I'd go for Iris I think. Ida still sounds like an old lady...

SanityClause · 16/01/2014 19:06

Ida was the name of Laura's best friend in the later Little House books.

It's lovely!
