I had (not like that, gutter-minds ) a ski instructor called Xavier when I was 16.

Is this appropriate for this thread?

i agree Becki, it's just a name survey not what names you don't like.

Oh well each to there own.

mia84 · 25/07/2006 16:17

I love Honey for a girl
And Jonah for a boy

Nicki10 · 25/07/2006 17:09

Poppy and Finlay are my favourites.

kittywits · 25/07/2006 19:41

I like Clara and Kai

mia84 · 26/07/2006 08:29

Kai is my dogs name!! I always loved it though!
( and he is a very very pretty dog!)

mia84 · 26/07/2006 08:30

And my name is Kara so thats close ish to clara

kittywits · 26/07/2006 08:36

Amy and Elliot for me. I wouldn't choose DSs names because DH won a bet to choose them and they are not my favourites

schneebly · 26/07/2006 08:53

Although I am pissed off that my ex has called his baby girl Amy - that was what I was going to call my wee girl (if I had one) - do you think it would be wrong to use the name anyway (if i ever have a girl)? We live 150 miles form each other - or would that just be weird?

My favourites weren't there but thought they were fairly well known so was suprised
Asha and Nathaniel (ds2 or dd1 are destined for one of these)

Xavielli · 26/07/2006 18:56

Thanks for all the comments about my babies names cod. Well done for typing them correctly!

FYI my sons name is not pronounced in the english, but in the greek pronunciation, as this is what they are. it is za-vee-ur. They have an unusual surname... it sounds alot less stupid with it... What do you want me to call him, Dave Petrasidis? Does that suit you better? FFS.

SSSandy · 26/07/2006 19:23

I added my favourite girl's name because it wasn't on the list. Aidan for a boy

sparklemagic · 26/07/2006 19:25

I am in alliterative mood and went for Leo and Lily.

Beccy1974 · 26/07/2006 19:44

Xavielli

i'm sorry this thead which i started just to pass on info really (not expecting people to comment) has led to you taking jibes about your choice of names.

I'm hoping the nastiness has dried up. I dont' think it's big or clever to make comments, it is so confrontational.

As regards the comment about 'lets all go on letsagreeoneverything.com" then i don't think anyone is ignorant enough to think everyone should agree, but I think there's a lot to be said for 'if you haven't got anything nice to say don't say anything at all".

Didn't really look at the lists, just checked to see if my favourite names were there. Had another look at the list and the only girl's name I sort of liked on there was Eve. I wouldn't have chosen any of them, not that they're awful or anything but nothing appealed to me.

coggy · 26/07/2006 19:54

I like Evie and Archie...although now I've put them together they sound like a 70s pop group!!

coggy · 26/07/2006 19:55

I also LOVE the name Eloise but no so keen when it's written down.

Is that weird?

muminaquandary · 26/07/2006 20:10

seems really silly to mock other peoples' choices ... it's all to do with personal taste, surnames, ethnicity etc ... our DC's will be a mix of English, Indian, Scottish, French & German so calling them Andrew and Anna would be a bit out of place IYSWIM

BTW love Xavier and Eloise, but then that's the French in me!
