PG with dd3. Due in three weeks. Honest opinions wanted!

Charlotte - Long term front runner, maybe going off now slightly

Naomi - Has been in the running with both dd1 and dd2 but always dismissed at the last minute.

Florence - I LOVE. dh is a bit meh. Not sure if it would be considered 'weird' in our local area where made up names seem prevalent and old fashioned names not so much.

Elsa - New front runner. Discovered this the other day. Dh loves. I really like. But dd1 has a 3 letter first name also beginning with an E (think Adams wife with an A) so could be a problem?

Naomi is the nicest on your list.

JollyScaryGiant · 27/10/2013 11:20

I love Charlotte but we had a family issue.

Our front runners were Rebecca and Bethany.

OnePramAndHisSprog · 27/10/2013 14:52

Elsa is lovely but I wouldn't use it with Eva. Naomi is my favourite of the other three. I think Florence is already dating badly, and Charlotte has massively surged in popularity this year so in five years time won't be wearing well.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/10/2013 15:48

Love Naomi - am biased. Like Charlotte and Florence. Not fond of Elsa.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/10/2013 15:49

Deffo wouldn't do Eva and Elsa together.

comeandgo · 27/10/2013 15:53

I am going off Elsa now because of dd1.

I think I may be moving towards Naomi.

Dh still loves Elsa though - which isn't helpful

Naomi is definitely my fave. Seems more unusual than the others at the mo, yet extremely classic (Biblical) and timeless. Looks and sounds beautiful. Also think it goes extremely well with your DDs name.

Also love Miriam in this vein if you're looking for suggestions!

Fantail · 28/10/2013 08:32

Naomi is great. Familiar yet uncommon.

I love your other choices too, but get that Elsa may not work with DD1.

How about Faith, Felicity, Esther?

lljkk · 28/10/2013 09:02

Elsa my fave. I don't think E start is a problem unless you have like 6 kids on that theme. I don't like Naomi.

Bakingtins · 28/10/2013 09:05

I think Eva and Elsa are too similar.
I have always loved Charlotte, and also like Naomi.
Not keen on Florence.

artyone · 28/10/2013 09:18

What about Ailsa? Similar to Elsa but A not E?

Ham69 · 28/10/2013 10:20

Love Florence. Agree it's getting popular but such a classic to me and very pretty.
Charlotte is way too popular.
Like Elsa but too similar to your DD.
Naomi ok but potential pronunciation issues.
Have you considered;
Beatrice nn Bea
Harriet nn Hattie
Anna nn Annie
Rose - lots of Rose middle names but fairly unusual as first name I think
Polly

Good luck OP

TenthMuse · 28/10/2013 12:56

Elsa is a favourite of mine but I agree that it's quite similar to Eva. Naomi would be my second choice - it has a lovely, lilting sound and is familiar without being overly common. Eva and Naomi make a cute sibset I think.

Florence is very 'of the moment' and will date, and Charlotte has been massively overused recently.

comeandgo · 28/10/2013 12:57

I love Beatrice but dh is convinced she will just be 'bea' forever and never actually Beatrice.

I also love Hattie but not keen on Harriet.

I find Anna a bit meh.

Rosa is beautiful but can't use any rose name because of surname Sad

funnyflowersky · 28/10/2013 19:32

I think your DH is right about the Bea.

Naomi goes well with your other DDs names.

comewinewithmoi · 28/10/2013 19:34

Elsa - gorgeous also like Elsie fine with your other E dd.

Charlotte, meh as are the others.

comewinewithmoi · 28/10/2013 19:34

Sorry Florence nice but don't like flora

comewinewithmoi · 28/10/2013 19:40

What about Mabel?

BlackholesAndRevelations · 30/10/2013 08:00

Ellen? I don't really think elsa goes with tess either, too many harsh s sounds, and together with Eva they're all a bit matchy, like anagrams!

Sorry. They are all lovely names though.

diddl · 30/10/2013 08:34

Like Elsa the best, but maybe not with other daughter's name.

Elise?

Eliza?

lottiegarbanzo · 30/10/2013 08:36

Naomi is lovely but can be mispronounced - Namie, Nomie - and would you pronounce it Nye-o-mi or Nay-o-mi? Emphasis on the o?

Florence lovely but very fashionable now.

Elsa the lion. Old reference i suppose. It is nice really.

comeandgo · 30/10/2013 13:14

We would go with Nay - o - mi.

Londongirl84 · 30/10/2013 17:54

I love Charlotte- so classic. Elsa is extremely pretty too.

qumquat · 31/10/2013 14:09

"Meet my daughters: Eva, Tess, and Elsa". Sounds perfect to me!

AmIGoingMad · 31/10/2013 15:54

Naomi is my favourite- it was very nearly dd name!

Also like Charlotte nn Charlie or Lottie.
