PG with dd3. Due in three weeks. Honest opinions wanted!

Charlotte - Long term front runner, maybe going off now slightly

Naomi - Has been in the running with both dd1 and dd2 but always dismissed at the last minute.

Florence - I LOVE. dh is a bit meh. Not sure if it would be considered 'weird' in our local area where made up names seem prevalent and old fashioned names not so much.

Elsa - New front runner. Discovered this the other day. Dh loves. I really like. But dd1 has a 3 letter first name also beginning with an E (think Adams wife with an A) so could be a problem?

How about Ailsa, that would go with the other two and sounds similar to Elsa. I think the slight different in sound would stop it being too close to E*a

They are nice but Elsa only for a lion.

Eva and Elsa are too similar IMO.

Charlotte lovely - three in my dd's class - depends if that would bother you.

Florence -lovely - my fave.

Think Elsa goes ok with the other name if begins with A.

I don't like Florence but love Naomi

Love Naomi
Avoid Charlotte extremely common
Elsa ok but not as solid a name as Naomi perhaps?

Definitely Elsa. Lovely name and I think it goes much better with those of your other daughters than the alternatives.

I love Naomi, it not that popular and it sounds lovely.

Charlotte makes me yawn it's so boring. Florence and Elsa are too old lady for me.

Alice?

It is a Charlotte style name, but less popular around me.

Have you considered Esme or Elsie?

Mattissy · 25/10/2013 22:06

I love Elsa and wanted it for a girl but stupidly called my dog it before I had children, by then I couldn't obviously give it to a daughter, lol. How about

I really like Florence.

Know a gazillion Charlottes.

Naomi, meh! Prefer Niamh, or Neve if you prefer a modern spelling.

Eliza is nice too I think.
I like Charlotte and Florence and love Naomi though the only one I know has the unfortunate nickname Nome!

Report
comeandgo · 25/10/2013 22:15

Love Niamh but cannot use because of surname.

Same problem with Elsie.

I like Charlotte.
Don't like Florence or Naomi.
Do like Elsa but don't think it goes with your other E name, a bit match-y for me, both starting E and ending A. I do like Elsie though or Alice.

Love Naomi

Elsa is very nice too.

Florence and Charlotte too twee for me I'm afraid. Plus I don't like the nickname potential. DS has "Flo" and "Charlie" in his class.

Can't use Alice because of family.

Florence is my favourite, but it seems the least popular on this thread.

I still can't see the problem. Introduce them to the vicar, "This is Eva. And this is Elsa". Sounds fine. Call them in for dinner. "Evaaaa" "Elsaaaa" sounds great. "I have 3 girls." And say all three names, Beautiful names.

Remember they aren't joined at the hip and will be introducing themselves without their siblings in a few years.

Ellen?

I also came on to suggest Ailsa rather than Elsa. It is so pretty but a bit less like your other daughter's name.

Report
comeandgo · 26/10/2013 12:12

Ailsa is lovely but it really reminds me of Home and Away

Charlotte I would choose out of your list. Florence is a Magic Roundabout character and what one of my parents cats is called.

I know, I love both Florrie and Flossie. Not keen on Flo though.

If Charlotte we would use Lottie.
