How do you pronounce Asa? As-a? Aay-sa?

Definitely Rufus Asa. And Ru is a great shortened name too.

And what's most important is that Asa followed by your surname sounds fab.

Though if you say it Rufus Asa it is hard to know where one stops and the other starts iyswim>

Rufer Say-sa

I don't think that flows very well

Asa Rufus definitely flows better.

I don't know your surname though.

It looks very feminine , and the child will grow up being told oh I thought you were a girl from your name. My father has a similarly sounding name and is in his 70ies, he hates it as he still gets Mrs Xxxxon conference invites and letters....its not a name that travels well!

But unless it travels to Sweden (and even then there's no accent), what's the problem? It's an Old Testament name.

zola there is a big world out there, even if the english know it as an old testament name, it doesni translate well into french spanish german....and def not into any of the scandinavian countries. What might be a cutesy name for a baby, think how it will look and sound for a bearded gentleman trying to sound professional in the business world.

The only Asa I've ever met was a beautiful, lovely caramel skin toned Thai boxing instructor. I used to "spectate" the kids lessons twice a week Smile they gave up after a year Sad.
I love both the names that you've chosen but they're both too fabulous to go together, Asa and Rufus need to be brothers, do you think you could wait and see what name suits him best?.

Love both

Are both ok with surname initials?

You don't have an ARF or a RAT?

Rufus? Just no.

For everyday use I prefer the name Rufus, which is fabulous, but if you're using them together I think Asa Rufus flows better.

Unless your surname begins with an S!
