Harriet or Charlotte

I'm booked in for a c-section tomorrow morning and I am really struggling to decide on a name for DD2.

I am leaning towards Harriet but DH much prefers Charlotte.

Any thoughts?

/charlotte

Harriet isn't very nice imo

FlushedAway · 28/08/2013 21:03

Personally I prefer Charlotte but both are lovely! Congrats and I hope all goes well tomorrow - I had an ELCS with my second and it was lovely!

Chottie · 28/08/2013 21:04

Harriet - it's really lovely with the NN of Hattie too

PeanutPatty · 28/08/2013 21:04

Hattie!

heidihole · 28/08/2013 21:04

Charlotte. Lottie

TheCricketWidow · 28/08/2013 21:04

Harriet Smile

NickNacks · 28/08/2013 21:05

Charlotte

Harriet is very nice....aren't I?

Gatorade · 28/08/2013 21:07

A mixed bag already!

Thanks flushedaway, I'm hoping for a calm experience after a crash section with DD1 18 months ago.

Harriet, but I like Charlotte too, helpful.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 28/08/2013 21:08

Harriet. Charlotte is dull and done to death.

Gatorade · 28/08/2013 21:08

I like the nicknames Hattie and Lottie, I wish I didn't as they might have swayed me one way or another!

I love them both.

Wishfulmakeupping · 28/08/2013 21:10

Harriet is so gorgeous and Hattie as nn is fab.
Charlotte is nice but a little boring

KatyDidItAgain · 28/08/2013 21:11

Harriet. It's a lovely name and not that popular nowadays. I hope that it all goes well tomorrow.

tinypumpkin · 28/08/2013 21:13

Harriet for me.

Hope all goes well tomorrow. I have an elective with DD3 after a crash section with DTs. It was such a different experience, calm and peaceful. Worlds apart I promise.

thewarmestowl · 28/08/2013 21:14

Harriet. Fab name, lots of great shortenings. Charlotte, for me, falls into the very pretty but done to death category.

Orangeboat · 28/08/2013 21:14

Like both but Harriet just wins it for me .

Nospringflower · 28/08/2013 21:16

Charlotte for me - think Harriet is a harsh/stern name for some reason.

lottiegarbanzo · 28/08/2013 21:17

Well, I feel I can say that there are some names that are just really good names, survive time and fashion and still feel satisfyingly pleasant, friendly, distinctive yet well known, dignified enough but not try-hard, soft but not cutesie, after many, many years.

I do think the soft, fluid, then stacatto of Charlotte is nicer than the harsher, more abrupt Harriet.

WLondonNanny · 28/08/2013 21:17

Charlotte- shorten to Charlie :)

hugoagogo · 28/08/2013 21:18

Charlotte is boring

Harriet is much nicer.

Good luck and look after yourself after your cs.

charleyturtle · 28/08/2013 21:18

charlotte means soul of an angel. if that makes any difference.

Onyabike · 28/08/2013 21:20

Charlotte. Both names are lovely, but I think that Charlotte is more feminine and elegant.
Good luck for tomorrow - hope all goes well. Do come back and update us!

Bowlersarm · 28/08/2013 21:21
