ONS Baby Names 2012?

Anybody know when they are going to publish the data on baby names for 2012? I remember they'd published it by this time last year.

None for DS's name, 12 for the alternative spelling. Three little boys called 'Success'

I can only see the data for the top 10 or the top 100 in the ONS links. How do you access the full lists?

Spider same here - none at all for DS's name, 16 for alternative spelling all in Cornwall I'm sure.

Oddly the name we've chosen for DS2 which is really quite a traditional English name, only had 12 last year which really shocks me actually.

Ok now I'm really confused. DS was born in December 2011, in England. I've just checked the full boys' list for 2011 and his name isn't there either

And in 2011 there were also 12 with DS2's prospective name - the exact same number as in 2012...

Lily is really number 2 (if you add it to Lilly) and Holly is really number 15 (if you add it to Hollie).

My DD1's name is very popular (always has been and still is, although dropped a bit), which makes me smile. I love the name (well, obviously).

It's interesting to see the regional variations, Amelia winning everything by a mile (I love the name and can see why it's so popular) and then Harry being quite popular, with the exception of Muhammed (London), Jack (NE) and Jacob (Wales). I like the slightly...unusual...names too.

Jeez- both my DS's names have risen sharply, with one being just outside the top 100 and the other in the top 100 (just!) now.
Anyway, I love those lists! Will check on prospective names for DC3 now

Xiaoxiong I think the list requires at least 2 babies to have the name.in order to feature on the list. Is DS's name very unusual? It might be that he is the only one, so won't be on the list?

Xiaoxiong, they don't list names which are given to fewer than 3 children in the relevant year.

Interesting, the currently popular diminutive of DD's name is at number 48. We actually really dislike that shortening, so it's bouying my hope that when she is older, that shortening will be so common she'll prefer to stick with the shortened version we use!

DD's name (born 2012) was twice as popular last year as 2011! Still only 35 though.

I love getting the new lists too. All 3 of my DCs now have top 20 names though! Only one did in the year they were born.

Not that it matters, I'm not changing their names now .

Xiaoxiong I don't think they include names which have been used fewer than twice. He could be actually unique!

DD's name is still right down in the 900's which always surprises me as it's frequently mentioned on here.

I know no little Amelia's at all. None at nursery, none in my extended friendship group. Isabelle/a/Isobel/Isabel and Sophia/Sofia on the other hand....bazillions! And lots of Isla's. Boys are all called William or Harry. Unless they're called Jacob. Boys names are terribly dull though.

My nephew's name doesn't make the list, he must be truly unique!

In the summary text click on the 'data section for this publication' at the bottom and it will take you to two excel links for boys and girls.
When you select the gender click on table 6 at the top and it will give you the full list.

Wow! DD1's name is 1649th in the UK! Won't be coming across many of them in her school life. Its not an overly odd name either. It is similar to 169 on the list.
DD2's name is in the top 50 and different spellings of it are even higher.
