manicinsomniac · 06/06/2013 10:52

Nearly 30.

My friends now don't have many names in common (too many different ages, backgrounds and nationalities).

At school though my year group had:
6 Sarahs, 6 Lauras, 5 Emmas, 3 Rebeccas, 5 Andrews, 3 Davids and 3 Ryans.

I am 30. Know millions of Andrews! Claire and Eleanor for girls according to quick check on Facebook!

Choccyhobnob · 06/06/2013 11:53

Born in the mid 80's, Charlotte and Laura are definitely the most popular names! I know loaads of them! James for boys I think.

Choccyhobnob · 06/06/2013 11:54

Ooh I forgot Sarah (all 7 of them!)

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 06/06/2013 11:55
  1. At school, which was the last time all my friends were the same age - Claire, Lucy, Sarah, Emma. Boys were Chris and Matthew.

Among students 18-21 now, a huge preponderance of Chloe, Amy, Rebecca, Katie and Emily. Boys are often Tom, James and Joseph.

Late 20s and a quick look on Facebook tells me that for women the top ones are:
Katie, Laura, Danielle, Emma, Jenny, Amy, Samantha

And for men:
Dave, Ben, Thomas, Sam, Michael, Andrew

Witt · 06/06/2013 12:14

Early 30s

Boys: Dave and Matt
Girls: Laura, Sarah, Louise, Jenny

Catbert4pm · 06/06/2013 12:16

Late 40's. At one point at school there were five Sarahs in my class!

nomoreminibreaks · 06/06/2013 12:17

I'm 31 and school was full of Emmas, Sarahs, Claires and Lauras. Boys were generally called Stephen, Adam, Chris, Jonathon or Richard.

FunnysInLaJardin · 06/06/2013 12:17

Born in the early 70's and plenty of Joanne's and Jasons in my middle school. Thinking about it though there was lots of diversity of names at my MC primary and upper schools but not so much at my WC middle school. At my primary I can think of no duplicated girls names at all!

treaclesoda · 06/06/2013 12:19

Late 30s. Nearly every female in my mobile phone is called Gillian or Karen.

Men seem to be Peter, Paul or David.

woozlebear · 06/06/2013 12:21

Early 30s.

Emma, Emily, Rebecca / Becky / Becca, Katherine / Kate / Katy, Lucy , Amy

James, Matt, Tom

I tend to gravitate towards people a bit older than me, where it's all Andy, Paul, Dave and Sarah.

woozlebear · 06/06/2013 12:22

oh also Will and Dan, for men my age.

lollypopsicle · 06/06/2013 12:33

I'm early 30's. Sam/Samuel is everywhere for a boy. More variation for the girls.

Christabel3 · 06/06/2013 12:38

I was sending my friend's sister a message on fb the other day and I realised I have five Gillians on my fb. That surprised me. I have three four Nicolas. No sarahs I don't think.

IHeartKingThistle · 06/06/2013 12:44

I'm 33 (1979). Almost all of my friends are called Helen or Claire!

KrazyKurls · 06/06/2013 12:47

29 - loads of Girls at school named Laura and Lynn.

Lots of boys named Chris and Stephen.
