No. Dated (70s).

ZolaBuddleia · 15/04/2013 10:41

No, agree it feels dated. Also feels a bit modern at the same time (sorry!), in the vein of Ethan, Wayne, Tyler.

No. chavy and i always think of dean gaffney.

10ptstoGRYFFINDOOR · 15/04/2013 10:46

It's from Harry Potter!! Sounds good to me haha!

Littlecherublegs · 15/04/2013 12:35

I have only ever personally known of 2 Deans - one was a very naughty boy I went to school with back in the 80's and one is a guy I worked with recently who was about 40.

I dont see it as a name for 2013 - as the others have said it seems dated so its a no from me (sorry!).

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 15/04/2013 12:37

No.

noisytoys · 15/04/2013 12:38

It's my dads name. He's 49

BumpingFuglies · 15/04/2013 12:39

I like it. I know a young Dean who is lovely.

MayTheOddsBeEverInYourFavour · 15/04/2013 12:50

Makes me think of dean Winchester from supernatural, he is one hell of a gorgeous man Grin

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 15/04/2013 14:25

It's actually not a bad name imo, but for me it's a no because the only Deans I have known have been utter, utter bastards. So the name is ruined for me now. Grin i can only think of them when I hear it and the shit they chucked my way.

Silly really, but words can have very strong associations.

But objectively - it's not a terrible name by any means.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/04/2013 17:03

I rather like it, in the same way that I rather like Ross, Dale and Scott. I think they are decent sounding, no-nonsense sort of names.

fussychica · 15/04/2013 18:10

It's fine - don't love it but don't hate it.

Still18atheart · 15/04/2013 19:29

Don't like it. sorry

TheChaoGoesMu · 15/04/2013 19:34

Yuk. Sorry.

OkayHazel · 16/04/2013 01:56

I quite like it, and have never met one.

IcingOnTheNappyCake · 16/04/2013 16:24

My Uncle is called Dean (about 39), and he's always like it? (if that helps) Confused I think it works well through their whole life and people sometimes dislike a name but then change their mind when they meet the LO and see how much it suits them!

mathanxiety · 16/04/2013 17:10

No. Same category as Glenn, Brian, Keith or Steven or other names from the 60s and 70s.

mathanxiety · 16/04/2013 17:11

And want to add Gary to that list.

deleted203 · 16/04/2013 17:41

No. Too 70s and (IME) were always love rats who drank too much.

deleted203 · 16/04/2013 17:42

Along with Waynes...

usualsuspect · 16/04/2013 17:45

I like it.

The Dean I know is the gentlest loveliest man.

BohemianWrapsForTea · 16/04/2013 17:46

No. Awful name.
Marginally acceptable if he has a twin called Pearl.

stargirl1701 · 16/04/2013 17:46

No. They are usually badly behaved in class.
