Ok so I like simple/shorter names, nothing too frilly, want something cool/surfey/ slightly bohemian but not too try hard....her brother's name is Finn if that gives an idea of our taste.

OP my 5 mo DD is Scout! we do get some but lots of people love it and it has grown on those who weren't sure, including the great grandparents. She is going to grow up surfing in California fwiw

my second choice (and choice for a boy) was Dashiell (dash-ull), which I still think is great, put am very kindly sharing here

Give the child two middle names, and make all three names long ones that can be shortened in a variety of ways.
