Ok so I like simple/shorter names, nothing too frilly, want something cool/surfey/ slightly bohemian but not too try hard....her brother's name is Finn if that gives an idea of our taste.

Thanks so much in advance this is driving us both nuts!

Thank you all so much for your suggestions, thats really good of you . As for the bitchy comments, words fail me (why em, bother-really?)

I guess my problems are that nothing has just "clicked" yet and to be honest I think I prefer boys names.

From your suggestions, I like Scout (dp doesnt believe this is even a name), Mia is nice, maybe a bit girly though....boyish names or girls?

Seriously OP, do not rush into this. You only have to register her, you do not need to specify a name yet, you have until 12 months to alter the original birth cert. That asides, I hope some of the names mentioned so far have been useful?

Yes I would agree with sparkle - choosing a name in one night of anxious fretting while looking after a newborn and your DS is not an ideal situation. Give yourselves a bit more time. Glad you like Scout though! And it's definitely a name!

Love Piper, Skye and Blue as well.

Oh, and if you have any Irish heritage, how about Aoife? (pronounced eefa). I think Finn and Aoife sound great together.
