  • It must be biblical.
  • It can't be too unusual.
  • It can't be too popular.
  • It must be more than 4 letters & at least 2 syllables.
  • It can't begin with: G, B, D or J.
  • It can't be: Andrew, Caleb, Elijah, Isaac, Matthew, Micah, Michael, Noah, Peter, Reuben, Samuel, Simon, Stephen, Timothy, Tobias, Zachariah or Zephaniah.
  • It must go with John as a middle name.

You have 6-11 weeks. I hereby abdicate all responsibility. Wink

Isaiah isn't too unusual but not too popular. Biblical, but won't be straight away associated with it. Isaiah John flows due to syllable and sound. The sounds of Isaiah contrast with the shorter, sharper John, making it sound more interesting and a better name.

Malachi is more unusual but not too unusual. Again, the ending sound of 'I' contrasts with John, so Malachi John sounds interesting and better. Biblical but not completely associated with the Bible- naming him that won't make others automatically assume you are an ultra strong Creatonist, as too biblical a name might mean.

I'd suggest Aaron as a handsome, strong name but it depends how you see Aaron John as a name (as in, do you like them having a similar 'n' ending or not?)

Nathaniel. I have one myself and so pleased we used it, it's lovely.

CocoNutter · 02/04/2013 01:41

Another one for Asher.

MsAkimbo · 02/04/2013 01:45

Abel or Thomas....could be because I watched Sons of Anarchy recently. Wink

MsAkimbo · 02/04/2013 01:47

Oh...or Elliot! I LOVE Elliot.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 02/04/2013 01:48

Nebuchadnezzar?

ICanTotallyDance · 02/04/2013 05:36

I second Gabriel and Christopher. They're lovely names.

Alexander is nice but popular.

Nathan and Nathaniel/Nathaneal?

Thomas is a nice name but... Thomas John is um... anyway, Ethan? Aaron? Amos? Asher? Alpheus has fallen out of favour a bit, but I think it's cool. Nicholas is nice. I'm not certain it's in the bible, but certainly an early Christian name. There's also Philip, Cuthbert and (though it isn't biblical) Douglas.

MrsJamin · 02/04/2013 06:21

Levi. (I know it is 4 letters exactly but I don't see the need for an extra letter if it is 2 syllables and it fits all the other rules)

SomethingOnce · 02/04/2013 09:07

Malachi

MsAkimbo · 02/04/2013 14:17

I didn't think of Thomas John! Blush Grin

What about Adam?

MsAkimbo · 02/04/2013 14:19

Ah wait
..scratch that and Abel. No 4 letters.
