Barak's only a fail because it begins with a 'B' though.

Yes, thank you, I was being facetious (and I'm an Obama fan).

EldritchCleavage did not read the opening post with much attention. Barak? Fail.

Yay! I think i already mentioned but Asher is my beautiful 4y/o nephew's name. He has a beautiful mop of blonde hair. Little dude. Loves his chickens, climbing trees and baby brother Suvi. He's a sunny little man. Gorgeous name! Grin Slightly biased!

I love Asher and know a marvellous one. Can I just say, I was first on this thread to say Asher, so I shall consider myself having named a baby Grin

Ok, I could give you an endless list, or direct you to

christianity.about.com/od/christainbabyboynames/a/boynamesab.htm

but obviously, the answer is Barak.

(Although I also like Asher, Ezra, Emmanuel (to be known as Manny), Judah, Marcus, Reuben and Theophilus).

(Shame about Melchizedek though) Wink

I think we might have a name! It's one that I liked & DH wasn't keen on but we agreed that we'd start trying out a few names & this one's grown on him.

Absolutely noone is allowed to say anything negative because I'm too easily swayed & will get put off it! but we like Asher! It's such a relief that we finally have a name. I'll cry if I come up with a reason not to use it! Blush

Could you have 2 middle names so you can have a J name and avoid the JJB initials? One of my friends did this as the names she wanted spelt HOB so she added another to make HOSB.

I think you should go for Jonathon (fab name) and use Levi for the middle name.

Jonathon Levi (JLB)

Simeon sounds and looks a bit odd to me, and I think would get mispronounced and spelled all the time.

I'd pronounce Aaron as Air-ron not A-run (but see above!)

We were going to call ds2 Ezra. Ezra John sounds cool to me too.

MadamFolly · 07/04/2013 20:52

I have pronounced it Ah-ren or Air-ren depending on the persons preference.

How about Simon as in Simon-Peter?

Report
abbyfromoz · 07/04/2013 20:42

Never heard Aaron pronounced 'Airon'... It's my cousin's name.

Pontius, Herod, Yahweh?

coffeewineandchocolate · 07/04/2013 08:26

I would say air on but i think he would get a mixture of both.

How about Matthew, Christopher, Nathaniel or David? I do love reuben tho

What does everyone think of Aaron? How would people pronounce it? I think it's a lovely name but I'd want to pronounce it air-on & I suspect a lot of people would automatically say arran. It's cruel to give a child a name that people will get wrong, isn't it?

I like Zimran meaning song or singer and Zuriel - rock or strength of God

Tricky criteria though. I do like Simeon but it was the nn we gave our cat, Simba!
