Icelandic/Scandinavian names

My hubby is icelandic, and we have a really boring British surname. We have agreed to give our kids icelandic names so that they arn't called John Smith.

Being a school teacher I have been a little grumpy and ruled out any names that I can't pronounce correctlty by reading them and any with non English characters (ð etc)

We have a son called Ragnar and a yellow bump, pretty set on Lilja for a girl, but would love some suggestions for boys (and girls too), been thinking about Ólafur for a boy but if we shorten the names our boys would be raggi and oli (rags and holes) am I over thinking this???

Danica is a lovely Scandinavian name for a girl & works well in England with the pronunciation etc

Icelandic/Old Norse

"Ari" meaning "eagle" or "fast flying one". Etymologically closely related to the Icelandic word "ör" (arrow).

I love this name for a boy, but Ari is a unisex name.
