I like it, for the sheakspearian connection, and a I know two women called Miranda, and they are both lovely women.
So good connotations all round for me!

I have one. Nobody ever shortens her name to anything dodgy and it's a great strong name. Mine is 14 and we once met one about 3 years younger but it is rare.

I think Sex & The City and then Ms Hart before Shakespeare. Bit frilly for me and the fear of ever being nicknamed Randy might put me off but I can see why people love it and the other potential nns -Mirrie, Mimi, Mandy- are nice.

I adore the name Viola. Wish I had chosen it for dd now.

Viola is lovely. If I had a fourth dd I think I'd go for that. No more babies here though! So we'll stick with Miranda, Rosalind and Beatrice (spot the connection - it's not hard!)

I love it. In addition to the Shakespearean connection, it's also the name of a character in Antonia Forest's novels which makes it more than O.K. in my book. I like Mira as a nickname.

Not one of my favourite Shakesperean heroines so I would not use it. I find her character a bit sappy. Give me Beatrice instead any day of the week!
