We're still seeking inspiration. Can you give me your absolute favourite girls name - just one - never min whether it goes with siblings or surname or is too posh or dh doesn't like it. I'd just love to know everyone's favourite. Maybe we'll be inspired.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I love Grace, but couldn't have it as our surname starts with Gr.
My two are Eleanor, and Alice. I still love those names.

Pr1mr0se · 20/09/2012 13:51

Eleanor
Elizabeth (probably going to be very popular this year for Jubilee reasons)
Natasha / Sasha
Beatrice

throckenholt · 20/09/2012 14:30

I like Karen - I like the look and sound of it. And judging by this thread it is totally not popular now Grin

I have 3 boys so didn't get to use any girl names. We had lots we could agree on (unlike boys names where we struggled to find common ground).

MaidInYorkshire · 20/09/2012 15:07

Hephzibah (or any variant spelling). If I had another girl, that would be her name regardless of DH, surname, teasing or anything else at all!

RIBS · 20/09/2012 15:15

how on earth do you pronounce that maid?? Confused

I like

Blossom
Jennifer
Elizabeth
Eleanor - but thats my niece and she's just as lovely as the name.

OrangeandGoldMrsDeVere · 20/09/2012 15:19

I LOVE Hephzibah.
I also love Bathesheba/Bethsheba.

walpole · 20/09/2012 15:25

omg are you joking about hepzibah!?

blackcurrants · 20/09/2012 16:22

merlin my Dsis is an Ursula. We called her "Ursie" (to rhyme with Nursie) when she was little - it's a very elegant name, suits her well.

EverlongYouAreGoldAndOrange · 20/09/2012 16:28

I know a Hepzibah nn Eppie.

I love it, also love Dolores.

Merryn which is my dd's name! And i saw another poster said she had a dd with same name. thats three mnetters with dd's called merryn and its not a popular name at all!

I also like felicity, violet, meredith, thalia and esme but dp didnt like any of those!

Oh and Eden which i love and sneaked in as another middle name despite dp not liking it!

teenyweenytadpole · 20/09/2012 18:39

Lydia

marshmallowpies · 20/09/2012 18:41

I think Erica or Erika is a very cool name, I'd happily consider Erica as a name for a DD except that I have a friend called Eric so would be a bit like naming her after him, not that he's not a good friend but my group of friends aren't in the business of naming our children after each other.

Susan is my XMIL's name so I'd never ever pick it, shame as I quite like it, and Susie as a nn. Perhaps Susannah instead.

Lambzig · 20/09/2012 19:17

Verity
Violet

Mylittlepuds · 20/09/2012 19:34

If DS was a girl - Harriet.

I LOVED it but bizarrely now I'm pregnant again I'm not keen. So strange.

Now if it's a girl it will be Emma. I'm not overly fussed on the name but strangely something is telling me that's the right name for our girl, should we have one.

NowThenNowThen · 20/09/2012 19:37

My Nan was Bathesheba Mrs D! Everyone called her Bash.

Favourite girls name :
