I adore this name it is super cute! I thnk Tori Spellings daughter is called Hattie, not short for anything! It could be short for Harriet but also a name in its own right in my opinion!

Makes me think of Hattie Jacques. Not an up-to-date reference i grant you but the name is a bit school prefect/matron/stuffy for me really.

DS was at a party with a 'Clemmie' the other day, and I thought that was a lovely name too. (Not sure why I'm mentioning this, they're a bit similar though!)

At one time I would have thought Hattie Jacques too,but now I think of the delightful little Hattie in Tom's Midnight Garden.

I adore Hattie! If I hadn't married someone with an H surname that sounds ridiculous with it, I would have my own Hattie.

Great name - we have a Hattie (birth cert is Harriet). She loves it - always introduces herself as Hattie, as is known by that at school by her choice.

We have 14yr old Hattie.Hattie on the birth certificate and there has never been another one in her school-hurrah!

We've got a Hattie at our definately-not-prep/public school, and unsurprisingly she doesn't get bullied because of her name.....what a ridiculous comment! Hattie is a great name

Really sorry that my expertise from the education system makes me a 'dick'. As a form teacher who has seen plenty of children bullied for having posh or unusual names in the comprehensive system I was just warning the OP that this could be the case.

I think there will be lots of Hatties going through school at the same time - don't worry about teasing. It's not weird or unusual enough to be teased for (anyway, if kids wants to tease, they will find SOMETHING regardless of the name!).

I think Hattie's cute - I know several baby Hatties!

I don't know any but heard a lady calling a toddler Hattie, the other day and thought that it sounded so pretty, especially of it's short for Harriet!
