Simon or Timothy

Baby boy due imminently. These are our two chosen names (middle name will be after my late grandfather). Think we would shorten to Tim, maybe Timmy as a baby/ toddler.

Anyone care to share their thoughts? Or suggestions in a similar vein (not too 'of the moment', but an ordinary sort of name).

Combine them and have Timon.

dreamingofsun · 16/06/2012 15:32

simon. tim/timothy reminds me of slightly effeminate posh kids..not sure why

I quite like them both but I think I prefer Simon. Smile

BackforGood · 16/06/2012 15:59

Really don't like 'Timothy'. It just conjures up a certain type of child / man in my mind. Sorry.
Simon OK though.

WithACherryOnTop · 16/06/2012 16:47

I like both but prefer Simon.

BringBack1996 · 16/06/2012 16:48

I know a lovely 13 year old Timothy, very cool! Not too keen on Simon due to lack of nicknames, can't imagine a little Si but could imagine a little Tim.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 16/06/2012 16:53

I think they are both vile, sorry.

Tangointhenight · 16/06/2012 17:07

Prefer Simon but what about Simeon?

Timmy reminds me of the kid in south park...those who have seen it will know why that's not such a good thing!!

Staceisace · 16/06/2012 18:54

I vote Timothy - my half brother is called Tim and it suits him a lot more than I initially thought.

I don't like Simon - I know about 10 of them my age (I'm 23) and none of them are friends. Haha!
